Everyone was so nice and professional. I was in so much pain and literally everyone from the Dr's to the cleaners were so nice and supportive. I would like to say a special thank you to aisha a junior Dr. She was so kind and brilliant. She made me feel so comfortable when I was in agony. She is a brilliant Dr.

  2. Review titled Opthalmology Eye Clinic WCH

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Tom Rodney - Posted on 17 April 2024

Attending Opthalmology Clinic as outpatient for day surgery Please pass on my appreciation to the Doctors , Nurses and all staff in this clinic. From start to end they gave a excellent service , putting me at ease, explained to me what the procedure involved and answered anything I wasn't clear about, all done with a smile. The clinic was for me a very positive experience ,an exceptional team throughout. They are without doubt a credit to themselves, their Profession , and an asset to the Opthalmology Clinic, at WCH ,and the NHS My sincere thanks. NHS.

  3. Review titled Wonderful staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Carol Wattel - Posted on 22 March 2024

I was with my Mother who was admitted to A&E by ambulance. During our time (7 hours in the corridor) the staff in attendance where absolutely wonderful, kind, caring and informative. The care they gave was beyond excellent. This while under the most tremendous pressure. The department was stretched to and beyond its limits. My family and I have nothing but praise and admiration for how the staff coped with a very stressful situation. In particular I would like to thank the lovely young Dr, who was so kind to my Mum and was still around even after her shift had finished, and the lovely nurses who were busy running around constantly checking on mum and the rest of us in the corridor. All of these amazing staff deserve all the praise I can give. Thank you from all of my family.

  4. Review titled Horrendous experience

by Anonymous - Posted on 28 April 2024

I was admitted from A&E onto Ward 1, all staff are exceptional. Until I met the gynaecology team. I have never been treated like that by doctors before. One female member told me that three things had been seem on my scan however, I needed a referral from my gp for two of them, (I have later found this to be untrue, after two more hospital stays) and I would be discharged on pain meds (ones she suggested i am allergic to!) & booked in for a hysterectomy! I asked why and she opened her clip board, took two pieces of paper out and threw the scan report at me with the three things underlined. Smiled and walked out. I was in shock. I pressed my buzzer and the nurse came and said i wasnt fit to go anywhere and went and got her back in. She ask me what my problem was as she had told me what was wrong and that was that. The nurse told her I couldn't be discharged with the pain so she agreed for me to stay. Later, i was suffering with headaches. Another consultant came and he told me that my headache wasn't due to the codeine and oramorph I was been given, and my pain was in my head! I was kept in for another two days then I saw another male consultant who told me he didn't have time to look at all my notes, scans and my surgery reports. But they do offer private appointments at Whitehaven, so he would be prepared to do it for me then!!! My next stay I met a lovely reg in A&E who listened then his boss came in and told me that it was once again in my head and sent me to medical. Medical I can not praise enough. The Dr was polite, listened and looked over my notes, scans and surgeries. The consultant came back and told me it was 100% not a bowel or bladder related issue as all was clear. endometriosis and adenomyosis was seen on my scans. So, I was passed back to gynaecology. When I saw them the next day they asked me what medical had said (the consultant hadnt even read what she had wrote down!) I told them and she said yes we know that! They had never mentioned this to me once. I will never trust whitehaven with my gynaecology care again.

Although my appointment was late staff continual reassured me. When I went for consultation and examination the Young lady was very professional, answered all my questions, made me feel comfortable. When I was taken to have my leg brace fitted once again the young women involved was professional, caring and made me fully aware of what was happening. All the staff I encountered were extremely friendly and very helpful, including the staff on reception.

  9. Review titled Very efficient

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by john richard elliott - Posted on 16 January 2024

I have recently undergone total hip replacement and want to place on record excellent performance by our Hospital. Within 30 minutes of reception I had been seen by an admission nurse, consultant surgeon ,anaesthetist ,physiotherapist . Into operating theatre in just over an hour and the procedure completed by lunch time. Excellent ward care overnight and the following morning Xray and physiotherapy check and afternoon discharge with appropriate pain relief medication. So a major procedure accomplished in just less than 36 hours! Recovering well, grateful thanks to all
