  1. Review titled Excellent care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I have been based in the Medical Day Case Unit for the last week receiving ongoing infusions for my condition. It has been quite a struggle both physically and mentally to get through but all the nurses on this ward have been amazing and have looked after me so well. They have tried so many different ways to help me and have been so lovely and supportive. I couldn't recommend this ward highly enough. Thank you!

  2. Review titled Appalling treatment of autistic patient (urology)

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 13 February 2024

Due to all hospitals around me being inept, I had read good reports of the service at Warwick and opted to get referred here to urology in the hope that for once, the NHS would provide for the support needs for me as an autistic patient. Sadly, Warwick proved they are just as bad as the rest. Not wishing to make the 90 mile journey for an early morning appointment, I opted to drive down the day before and stay in a hotel so I could ensure I would be not stressed and fully prepared for my appointment at 10. I arrived at the hospital outpatients at about 9.30am and booked in at reception and was sent to wait in a main waiting area which I did not want to do as I had requested a reasonable adjustment to wait in a private room as I get anxious in main waiting rooms as they often get busy and people are buzzing around everywhere. After being left for 20 minutes like this, I was eventually spoken to and offered a private room to wait in. Just before 10am, the lady came back to the room and told me that my appointment would be delayed by at least an hour due to the urology consultant being needed in theatre. This was unexpected for me as I was not informed prior to booking this appointment that the urologist would be on call on the the day of the appointment and call outs are something that frequently happen. If I had access to this information prior to making my appointment, I would not have risked this journey and all the stress it entailed. I was asked if I was happy to wait an hour or so and I was not able to due to this sudden and unexpected change being challenging for me to deal with and eliciting intense emotions that I have dysregulation of. As a direct result of poor, short sighted management and not being given adequate or accurate information, I had no option but to leave and go home without being seen for a condition that I had been distressed with for some time. The lack of understanding of autism or any sort of adequate training about autism from this hospital Trust and how it can affect patients is appalling and not acceptable. It is also potentially discriminatory. This hospital is not inclusive, does not demonstrate support or understanding for people from diverse backgrounds and fails in equality metrics. Avoid this hospital if you want to have your needs met as a person with impairments.

  3. Review titled Great Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Daniel Howe - Posted on 15 February 2024

Wife turned out to have acute sciatica, we were in and out in 1.5 hrs. Really great service. One grumble would be the front desk is plastered with notes telling patience’s not to ask about how long the wait is. It’s a really key metric for the customer and this didnt give the greatest welcome. I Still get the vibe that the customers are considered to be quite an irritant by some staff.

  6. Review titled Urology Appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 20 May 2024

Despite it being over a year since my previous appointment, the Urology Consultant rushed through my phone appointment and had a very dismissive manner. I didn't have a chance to discuss several topics I wanted to bring up as I was only asked a few questions, and the doctor clearly wanted to end the call. After several years under the care of this department with no improvement to my condition I feel unsupported, and utterly without hope.

Great team work during the endoscopy procedure. The three staff were knowledgeable reassuring and explained the process clearly respected my wishes for not having sedation showed me how to use the gas and air equipment. They were a credit to the department made the process from admission to discharge a positive experience.

I attended the Endoscopy unit for a Cystoscopy and was treated with friendliness, dignity and respect by all members of staff for what is a slightly invasive procedure. Kept fully informed before and after my procedure,

  10. Review titled Wonderful, life-saving care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

My husband experienced acute delirium on the streets of Stratford-upon-Avon when we were on a family visit with our two teenage children. It was terrifying. The speed, efficiency, care and expertise with which he was treated at Warwick A&E was exemplary - and quite probably life-saving. I shall be forever grateful for kindness and calm with which nurses and doctors alike looked after the whole family while we were going through a very frightening and confusing experience. They ruled out all the most dangerous possibilities at speed, making sure he was safe while they identified the problem, and caring for us all with such sympathy and respect. It was the NHS at its absolute finest and we will always be grateful.
