Just had a total hip replacement and from January when my pain started till Saturday when I had my operation I can say a huge thank you to the amazing staff, so friendly , and to the cleanliness of this hospital. The Doctor who operated me is such a nice man . If my other hip give up , I’ll go back with assurance to be well treated Thank you all

Took my 5yr old for dental extraction. The dentist, anesthetist and staff handled him for the procedure and its aftercare smoothly and carefully.Moreover the environment at Alice ward will help children to be in their norm.Thank you the whole team.

What a pleasure to be treated like a valued individual, from my arrival as a day patient until the moment I left I was looked after with a smile and a caring attitude. From the booking to my surgery every individual I met treated me with kindness, care and compassion. Thank you to every member of staff from my consultant to the tea lady you all left a lasting impression.

1 gransden drive shrewsbury sy3 6bz thank you, shrewsbury and rj & ah hospitals and all the wonderful staff who work there. unfortunately, the trend these days is to only focus on bad news and forget that most times the nhs gets it fantastically right with treatments satisfactorily completed, sometimes under difficult circumstances. after damaging my finger and waiting a week to see if it would cure itself, I called 111 in the evening who after due consideration told me to contact my surgery first thing the following morning. The doctor from there telephoned me to discuss the information he’d received from 111. I was then sent to shrewsbury a&e and by 11.00 I had been triaged, had three xrays on my hand and been seen by staff in the small injury clinic. They asked me to attend the orthopaedic clinic the following day at 9:00, and by 9:45 I had been seen by a doctor and a consultant who made the decision to send me for an operation at the rj&ah orthopaedic hospital in oswestry. later that day I had a call to book me into the hospital in 8 days’ time. Arriving at the rj&ah at 7:15am, I was seen by two doctors, an anaesthetist, and a consultant, and booked in by a sister who took me to a lovely pod area and then to the operating theatre. I woke up at 13:00 by a sister who brought a drink and sandwiches. i’d like to thank all the staff I met, and of course all the backroom staff who made this possible. that day 68 operations were completed. every day they complete between 60-70 operations and all I heard were people thanking the staff. What an excellent service from start to finish by so many lovely professional people. i have sent this to the local newspapers and I hope they print it instead of the negative news on the wonderful nhs thank you and kind regards paul p. f. harris. o.b.e

There is a lack of honesty regarding likely wait times for operations and a failure to respond to emails seeking clarity. I cut short my holiday to attend a preoperative assessment 14 weeks ago hoping to have an operation within the following 12 weeks. After 12 weeks I emailed twice and was ignored. After 14 weeks and no contact regarding a new preop assessment, today I finally got through on the phone and after persistent enquiries I was eventually told my operation is likely to be toward the end of the year. I appreciate that there are issues with waiting times but some honesty would be appreciated so that people can plan their lives and not put everything on hold hoping an operation might happen.

I recently had an MRI scan at the hospital and found what I had expected to be a challenging experience nothing of the sort - it was brilliantly orchestrated from my arrival to departure. Really appreciated the excellent attitude and competence of all the staff involved.

Attended 14 April for a second knee replacement, having had a number of procedures at Rjah previously. The level of care on this occasion was every bit the high standard I have experienced on previous visits. From admission, through to anaesthetic team, surgical team , recovery and ward team & physios , everyone went over and above to make this a very positive experience. Every member of staff went about their work with the patients well-being as their priority. 2nd day at home after discharge, and I’ve just had a call from the Knee Team to check how things are going - that is 5star service!
