  1. Review titled A task not a person

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 13 May 2024

Whereas on the one hand the Doctors, Nurses and HCAs’ were so kind, caring and empathetic towards my elderly parent, the transfer of care team / hospital social worker just saw him as a name that had shown up on her computer in box, a name that needed pushing on to the next department. He wasn’t a person with increasing care needs of which needed in depth discussion with him, his family and the care facility to help him move forwards to achieve a successful discharge and quality of life, he was just another task and not a person. I am disappointed in the hospital social worker.

  2. Review titled Useless

Rated 1 star out of 5

Asked to ring back if treatment didn't work. and make a further appointment. After one hour, seven phone calls, multiple call transfers, multiple dead end voice mail boxes, I can't make another appointment. This is in reference to the Eye Out Patients Department.

I would like to leave positive feedback and warm thanks for the surgical team who operated on my husband in the early hours of this morning. I will probably not be able to met you in person so I want to make sure you know how much we appreciate the work you do and the incredible level of expertise and skill. Many kind thanks to the whole team - you are greatly appreciated.

  4. Review titled Audiology appointment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I have had a couple of occasions to ring the audiology department to request appointments for hearing tests at East Cleveland hospital. The young lady who spoke to me was extremely helpful in securing convenient times etc for me. Exemplary service from her.

  5. Review titled Answerphone ignored

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 09 May 2024

Excellent experience with my father's Cochlear Implant. However, trying to get his processor sorted is proving a nightmare. They ignore answerphone messages regularly, I have been trying to get a response for 5mths despite leaving 6 messages! Totally unprofessional and not what I expected from this hospital.

  6. Review titled Poor

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 20 April 2024

Ward 1 - Staff took umbrage towards a family member calling in once a day to ask for an update on an elderly relative. For varying reasons, (distance, disability, illness) not all relatives can visit and again, for varying reasons not all extended families communicate with each other / share information. It can take hours to actually get through to Ward 1 only to be greeted in an extremely rude manner by Staff.

  7. Review titled Very Good

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Podiatry Outreach ~ Although it takes a long while to get to the top of the list for podiatry housebound home visits, whilst waiting the admin staff are so friendly, polite and informative when carers call to check up if an elderly person is nearly at the top of the home visit list.

  8. Review titled Third world worthy, avoid at all costs.

Rated 1 star out of 5

cancel important life changing appointments and reschedule said appointments months and months later, been waiting for my appointment nearly 3 years, they don’t answer correspondences, lie on the phone saying they will contact me and don’t, I’m just going to save up to go private, the nhs isn’t a charity we pay for this with our taxes and the service is third world worthy.

  10. Review titled Disabled Parking

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 21 March 2024

While driving around the Carpark’s on site for over 45 minutes in an attempt to look for a disabled space with my mum, who is in a wheelchair, I was absolutely appalled and frustrated to find at least 10 staff vehicles all with South Tees badges displayed in their windscreens parked in disabled spaces without displaying a blue badge!!! Come on James Cook, surely you are more than aware that this is happening on a daily basis, you must have the staff’s registration numbers logged to enable the parking enforcement officers to contact the departments to move their cars! Personally I would name and shame them! These staff members are clearly breaching NHS shared trust values within the NHS constitution, and they must be held accountable
