  1. Review titled Fabulous assessment and care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Karen Knowles - Posted on 04 June 2024

My husband was admitted on Sunday evening after experiencing a mini stroke. All staff (two doctors and a nurse specialist) were excellent - really knowledgeable (obviously!) and explained everything very clearly to us. He was given a CT scan very soon after arrival and the results were interpreted for us soon after. The professionalism and knowledge of the staff was extremely reassuring and we appreciated that they kept family in the loop, as well as their fantastic care for my husband.

  2. Review titled No sandwiches available.

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Christine Barlow - Posted on 12 June 2024

Husband had an appointment but was taken ill and ended up in A&E . I tried to get a sandwich from the restaurant, oak shop and Costa coffee. Not one of the above had any available. Very poor service ,from a hospital as big as this.

  3. Review titled Too long to wait for biopsy results

by Anonymous - Posted on 04 June 2024

I was referred to ENT as urgent..suspected cancer of the vocal cords. All the 1st part of this I can not fault. Seeing the consultant, lovely staff. Examination with a camera, MRI etc all very swift. Then admission and surgery to remove the legion and biopsy. Great! Before the surgery the surgeon told me I would have my biopsy results within 2 weeks...such a difficult wait for me and so stressful! Then the 2 week period ended snd nothing but a referral letter to ENT. I phoned to see what this was as I was already being seen and didn't need referral. I was told this letter was an error and it should have been one to say I would have an appointment in 6 weeks for my results. I spent the next 48 hours falling apart! I can't wait that long...I will be ill even if I am clear of cancer, which I am trying hard to convince myself of. My head will be shot to pieces because of the stress! I am so upset. Come on Stepping Hill please get this right or people will suffer very badly, physically and mentally, which defeats the whole object doesn't it. Also I will be on the phone constantly chasing this so wasting not only my time but health care workers time too!!

  4. Review titled Would recommend

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Laura - Posted on 03 June 2024

Having never been under general anaesthetic or requiring major surgery before, you can imagine my anxiety levels when needing a tumour removal from my neck. From staff on the other end of the appointment line, right down to the anaesthetist, consultant, nurses, hca’s and cleaners, I was treated with up most respect, compassion and care. They each went above and beyond to ensure I was safe and comfortable. Could not recommend Stepping Hill enough and so very grateful for their care and support.

  5. Review titled Awful Ante Natal clinic waits

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Duffield - Posted on 02 May 2024

Once again sat waiting for an anti natal clinic appointment with the consultant/doctor . Last time waiting 2 hours , this time already at an hour wait . Our appointment was at 9am speaking to the Nurse on duty . The doctor's haven’t even arrived to start the clinic ! It’s now 10am and no sign . There are a lot of women here pregnant obviously, uncomfortable and stressed. We have had to cancel another appointment this morning, rushed to get here on time . No information is given , just have to wait . Totally unacceptable .

  9. Review titled Most pleasant, friendly, and helpful nurses and staff.

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Peter - Posted on 13 April 2024

Attended Accident and Emergency (a&e) this Saturday morning at about 09:15, concerned about minor chest pains that had been occasionally occurring over 5 weeks. Virtually everyone was pleasant, friendly, and helpful. Within 15 minutes had an ecg, given by the one nurse who was the only exception. She was polite & busied herself with preforming the ecg, only perhaps lacking the friendliness of the other nurses and staff. The Triage nurse was most friendly, jolly, and efficient. After a while I was admitted to the Same Day Emergency Care unit (sdec), which was quieter than a&e and more comfortable. Again, all the nurses and staff were great. Gave a blood sample to test for Troponin. Unfortunately, the earlier a&e ecg data couldn't be found, but that wasn't any problem as another ecg was easily performed in sdec. After a chest X-ray and speaking to a doctor, I was discharged at about 14:00. While in sdec I was given a cup of tea and light lunch. Having had a heart attack and triple bypass surgery 7 years ago, I'd taken a good book to read and was therefore well prepared for the inevitable, but understandable, waiting for test and for the doctor's diagnosis. Therefore, giving my big thanks to all Stepping Hill nurses and staff today for making my visit as pleasant and comfortable as possible in a&e and sdec.

  10. Review titled Jasmine Suite

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Nicole gibson - Posted on 19 April 2024

I just want to say thankyou to the Doctor and the two nurses who were working in the Jasmine Suite on the 18.04.2024. I think we are so quick to leave bad feedback and never the good. Thankyou so much for making me feel so calm and at ease from the moment I walked into the clinic. Thankyou for making me feel comfortable and at ease the procedure was over so quickly and painless. I hope this gets back to you thankyou again
