  1. Review titled Out of control the worst experience

Absolutely one big joke. I'm 37 weeks pregnant I came to a&e department with my husband as he suddenly lost his avability to see anything. He had a huge headache every day since over a month his been told by doctors to take only paracetamol as everything is ok. Now he can't see. We have been waiting already 6h just for the blood and pressure be taken. Minimum waiting time 4h we have been told. There is so many people in pain around and doctors seem to have a time for everything. Noone is rushing everything is done super slow even walk. This is just a joke. Noo e can tell us how long from now we will be still waiting could be another 6h. Other thin is the ho else's peopke were here doing a party drinking alcohol playing music shouting. Nothing was done about it receptionist seemed absolutely fi e with it, security wasn't even called. It's so awfull what's happening in here I feel like people can lictuarly die here and nothing will be done really. Do not come to this hospital.

  2. Review titled Incompetent shambles

Rated 1 star out of 5

Hospital consultant issued prescription on 1 March. I telephoned 2 March to check situation & was told medication had to be ordered in. Pharmacy said they would contact me when ready. Having heard nothing I telephoned on 9 March - was told the medication arrived late on 8 March but had not yet been dispensed. This was a lie. When I picked up the medication the accompanying paperwork said 'Dispensed 8 March'. Additionally, picking up the medication is a horror story - I waited more than 30 minutes to pick up my medication after receiving a text to say it was ready. Delay mostly caused by four patients trying to pick up medication which had not been dispensed combined by slowness and incompetence of staff. Triage needed on patient side if carrying on with in-house dispensing. Cull of incompetent staff very urgently needed. Outsourcing with a commercial pharmacy likely to be miles better - could hardly be worse.

  3. Review titled Kind and caring

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I had an appointment this morning in the Gynaecology department. I was seen on time even though there had been a fire alarm alert earlier. I was seen by Margaret and Moly who were delightful. They explained what was going to happen and reassured me at all times. I felt relaxed even though the procedure can be uncomfortable. They answered my questions fully and I was very satisfied with my treatment.

  4. Review titled Waiting to see a doctor

Rated 3 stars out of 5

Had a full at home and went along to A&E to get checked out, and I had to wait 15 1/2 hours before seeing a doctor. Had an x-ray on my elbow and they said everything was okay. Got a phone call a few days later from the hospital to tell me that the x-ray was looked at again and that there was a small fracture on my elbow. I know that the doctors and nurses do a fantastic job under difficult circumstances but having to wait for 15 1/2 hours and be told the x-ray was good and then getting a phone call two days later to say there was a fracture was disappointing to say the least. The NHS management at St Hillier hospital need to take good luck at the A&E department

  6. Review titled Excellent service

I brought my son to A&E on early morning of 5 February 23 with a suspected heart condition. The receptionist was efficient and professional; a triage nurse saw him within a few minutes, and by a doctor almost as soon as we got to the waiting room. In my opinion the care he received throughout was excellent.” Everyone was so kind. The staff - doctor and nurses are professional and efficient.

  7. Review titled Makes no sense

A 5 hour wait for no reason other than using the 5 hour wait for patients to prove that they need care. Completely ridiculous!

  8. Review titled appalling

My son was in a&e because his ketones were high and he was extremely short of breath. We waited for over 4 hours, other patients came in after us and were attended to but my sons blood sugar was not even tested. After all that time my sons blood sugars fortunately improved and his condition also improved, so he said he felt good to go home. We stood at the desk for a good ten minutes being ignored by the staff, gave up for a bit, went back to the desk with the same staff just sitting there ignoring us yet again, finally got their attention, said we were going home because my son felt better so they called for a doctor and ignored us for another 15 minutes, meanwhile other patients being seen and my son the only one not seen. At this point for all they know he could have been keto-acidotic (he has type 1 diabetes) so we literally walked out knowing full well that at this point we could deal with him better at home. I don't usually complain but the treatment my son received (or should i say didn't receive) was absolutely disgraceful.

  9. Review titled CW was very good

Rated 4 stars out of 5

My visit was due to a swollen ankle. The male nurse at the urgent treatment department was welcoming, wanted to help, enthusiastic and reassuring. He was pleasant and explained that I had a small fracture and took the time to show me on the x-ray. He explained the healing process and why I was getting a boot not crutches. He checked I could walk in them and answered my questions. He gave me information on exercises to help. I felt he cared which made my experience a good one I wanted to share as this is not usually my first hospital of choice due to my medical appointments usually being somewhere else.

  10. Review titled Great care

I arrived at St Helier A & E with shoulder pain at 11.00 a.m on a Tuesday. I left at 12.30 having been examined twice, X-rayed, and diagnosed with rotator cuff injury. Arm in sling and with selection of exercises to strengthen muscles. Incidently, only one ambulance present outside, unloading patient. Superb response and service. Thank you.
