  1. Review titled Excellent staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Kerry - Posted on 16 March 2024

Had to visit with my 2 year old boy, who was being sedated for the first time. He has had many visits inthe past and has a fear of doctors and nurses so wouldn't have his medicine and was upset whenever someone came to the room. Having to struggle in the past for observations ect he was happy after 'R' a student nurse spoke to him with compassion and didn't rush him (she was great). After unsuccessfully trying to sedate him with medicine they had to try a different route which wasn't nice but it worked. After all of his tests and being on the ward the nurse was very kind, patient and understanding of my sons behaviour and mood. I felt assured everything was fine from the get go. I understand its their job to care for patients but it's rare we have come across such a good work team they were all just amazing! 'L', 'B' and 'L' you all deserve medals for what you do going above and beyond with every patient and 'R' is definitely learning from the best. I wish you all the happiness in the future and we won't forget our visit and the smiley faces we were always greeted with. Thank you 😊

  3. Review titled Feedback on ACL reconstructive surgery.

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Nicky Martins - Posted on 04 October 2023

My daughter attended an appointment with the consultant surgeon 2 months after her ACL reconstruction. It was a moment to pause and reflect on the positive journey that she has had since having her operation at the start of August 2023. Her scars are healing well and her recovery is being monitored carefully by her physiotherapist. We would like to acknowledge our gratitude to all involved in her medical journey. Her needs since having the operation have been met by a body of professional and caring individuals.

Rated 1 star out of 5

I was let home with my daughter for a night of ward 76 at royal Manchester children's hospital to then be carelessly let back on the ward whilst there was a viral infection going around there should have been a nurse on the door that warned us to not come back onto the ward. Careless nhs as always.

  5. Review titled Poor communication

    by jazzqy77 - Posted on 23 January 2023

I was referred to psychology through a specialist clinic and received amazing care from Jan 2021 to Jan 2022 and could not fault the psychologist I dealt with. He literally saved my life and his care and compassion was fantastic. After a short time away from therapy in Dec 2022 I felt I needed re referred. By this time the psychologist I was dealing with had left. I received a letter for a telephone appointment. I emailed the service to explain I could not attend as this was telephone and I was completely deaf. I did not hear until 2 weeks after the appointment was meant to be. I explained I need video call (Microsoft teams) as this has closed captions. I received an email with attachment for meeting but no time. I emailed back asking for a time to which I got no reply. 3 weeks later I received a letter in the post saying I didn't attend and to contact within 14 days if I still wanted an appointment. I emailed the service again to explain I did not attend as I had no time I also explained that I am completely deaf and email is my only communication with the NHS as i cannot always relay on family members to phone for me. Giving the specialist clinic that refers people to psychology the majority of patients are deaf so a lot of them will email. I understand if the email is not regularly monitored however they do provide the email address on letters therefore it should be monitored. I have never heard anything again from this email. I feel that although the NHS is under extreme pressures, allowances should be made for hard of hearing and deaf, especially as this is a psychology service and people are vulnerable and need to speak with someone.

  6. Review titled Great practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I came into childrens A & E for a second opinion as I had a bad experience at another hospital. My 4 year old daughter had fell in dirty and there was glass also around where she had fell . the cuts were deep and left Uncleaned the doctors were so good with my daughter and so thorough with looking at the wound, checking how her hand was moving. a plan of action was made. She went in as a day case the following morning ward 76 for them to put her under anaesthetic so they could check there was no damage they hadn’t been able to see , give it a good clean out and a stitch. All the staff on this ward were also fantastic with my daughter. Thankyou to everyone who helped with her care you were all so professional and helpful.

  7. Review titled Thank you Royal Manchester A and E

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by John Taylor - Posted on 14 July 2022

Thank you to all the A and E staff at the childrens hospital who looked after my son who I brought in with a hand injury on Sunday evening. He was assessed promptly and thoroughly by the triage nurse and A and E doctor. He was kept comfortable at all times and and offered food and drink which he really appreciated. (He couldn’t believe it was free) He was referred almost immediately to plastics for their specialist input. The plastics doctor on call was very thorough and explained the injury and treatment plan in detail. Thank you to all involved. Your dedication and caring nature shone through.
