A&E is very inefficient. It's dirty and wasn't cleaned for the 6+h I was there. Unfriendly staff. No communication. Dirty water supply. Toilet bin full all morning. Dirty sheets on chairs. It doesn't end...

Arrived with head injury, after being sent with a letter from Hearn Bay, booking in took 40 mins, very very rude lady, a doctor came, I did not understand his English at all, you could clearly see what was wrong, a head injury and epileptic fit. No hello was told to go into a waiting room, told in there 7 hour wait at least, got up told the lady I checked in with that I am going due to fear of a seizure, and no room to have one where I’m sitting and there is nowhere else. No one cared.

  4. Review titled Shocked with the department and some staff members

Was very much the same as other experiences. Rude and unhelpful not even acknowledged just pointed to a waiting chair..and waited!nurse would not even look when you asked her a question ,45mins late for 1st appointment of the day..consultant was repeating his views over and over and not listening to anything I had to say or ask.he was loud and seemed angry.and overly defensive i left politely as there was no point being there from start of my treatment months ago he had no interest in listening to my symptoms and to be honest on leaving hospital after my knee op I was given a sheet of exercises for an elbow! I returned to my gp for help concerning an ongoing knee issue which has not improved since the surgery infact it's worse but would never return to that surgeon again, and to top it off my discharge letter to gp is untrue he keeps referring to my repeated mri...I have Only ever had one knee mri..so please people check your health records online I will check mine regularly now as not just the service is bad the reports to Gps are incorrect too and make you look like your being investigated and treated more than you actually are,my gp and nurse and physios are absolutely brilliant and always talk and find out what symptoms and concerns you have and talk to you about how to go forward , which when your in pain and worried reassures you

  5. Review titled Woeful communication & attention to detail

Rated 1 star out of 5

77yr old patient, admitted for swelling in knee. Spent 3 weeks in hospital, accelerated out to Faversham without full assessment of swelling that remained in place, preventing patient to be able to stand. Despite repeated requests for patient to receive an MRI, doctors ignored and dispatched anyway. Patient has now been returned to QEQM, from Faversham due to knee issue and unable to undergo rehab due to same issue. Re admitted after Faversham hospital requesting an MRI with suspicion of meniscus tear. Patient has been abandoned y the first A&E doctor he saw and has not received any information about next steps, then removed from consultation room and left, immobile in the corridor, in hospital pyjamas alone. Communication in QEQM for the last 4 weeks is appalling. I appreciate they are under stress but basic human decency of communication should not suffer and patient notes should be kept fully updated everyday.

Thank you, very much, to those working hard at QEQM emergency services. We were seen to quickly, the systems worked, the place was clean, and the staff were friendly and attentive - despite being at the end of a night shift. Thanks to all and keep up the great work.

  10. Review titled lack of communication causing unnecessary stress

Rated 1 star out of 5

My brother was admitted to A and E as an emergency in an ambulance and I tried to phone to find out his condition and as I live in a different country. I wanted to know how bad his condition was and whether I needed to fly back urgently. I tried to ring the ward to find out ........and I rang several times, in total I was on the phone for over one and a half hours .......and nobody answered. Yes I understand that you are under pressure, understaffed, busy etc. But this was so stressful being totally unable to get ant information for a day. The only thing I could do was to ask a friend to visit him and ring me, as I was so stressed and anxious. I think this is totally unacceptable. I'm sure someone could have spared a few minutes to talk to me and put my mind at rest!
