  1. Review titled Colposcopy Amazing care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 11 August 2023

The care my daughter received yesterday In Colposcopy couldn’t have been any better if she had been a relative of the staff. Words can’t describe how amazing that team is at the QE! She was very anxious on arrival however the nurses but her at ease from the minute she arrived until they seen her out. Even insisted on sweet treats and a cup of tea before she left double checking she was ok to leave. Absolute angels they are. Only wish I was allowed to give you their names, what a lovely bunch of ladies, many thanks xxx

  2. Review titled Amazing patient care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Samantha Lee - Posted on 19 July 2023

I attended the colposcopy clinic for an outpatient appointment. I was very anxious about this and worried after having treatment in the past. The 3 members of staff; the lady who performed my colposcopy, the band 5 nurse who assisted with my entonox and the healthcare assistant were nothing short of brilliant. They were so understanding, kind and caring and did everything in their power to ensure I was calm and not anxious. They really listened to my feelings. The lady who performed the colposcopy made me feel at ease and explained that I could stop and take some time at any point. They made me the entire focus of the appointment and I can honestly say I have never experienced patient care like it. They were fantastic. I am a nurse myself and this has made me want to change the way I approach my own practice. I would like to thank them all very much for being so supportive, kind and professional. I will be requesting to attend this clinic again in the future should I need further tests or treatment. They are all excellent role models and a real asset to the hospital. Thankyou so much again Samantha

  3. Review titled Wonderful Maternity team!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Kym - Posted on 12 July 2023

I can’t express enough how amazing all of the maternity team treated myself and my partner during our time on the labour ward. The midwife’s were all so friendly, calming and patient. For first time parents labour is a daunting thing but myself and my partner were put at ease by the ladies who were working so hard to ensure we had a safe and comfortable experience when it come to welcoming our baby to the world. Thanks to you all.

  4. Review titled Excellent

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I went at 10am and left at 6 pm. A long time that is for sure. But I must weigh this against the care I received from nurses, doctor and porters. I had so many tests I began to think the doctor wanted to keep me as long as possible! I have to say the treatment X-rays and so that he ordered left me feeling that I had a full mot. Although I was there a long time something seemed to happen every hour or so to break the time. Doctor even apologised for me having to be there so long. So when I left I felt that I had been treated exceptionally well by everybody and the doctor made me feel confident in his diagnosis. So people although you may be visiting for a while please don’t complain when you leave and you have been sorted out.

  5. Review titled Terrible service

Rated 2 stars out of 5

I was waiting for 5 hours straight in complete agony with my knee and every time I asked for a rough estimate of the time I was told I don’t know constantly. The staff don’t even know what is going on in their ward and don’t know what patients need seeing there is never any staff on the wards themselves. Every time I come to this hospital it’s the same the staff just don’t get anything done and have people sitting around for hours on end I even heard them talking about transferring money and what they were doing after work etc it’s not necessary what’s necessary is that you take care of your patients and get the work done that is meant to be done. Stuff needs to improve asap because it’s not just me sitting around it’s also elderly people who are in no state to sit on your hard uncomfortable chairs for hours on end. Within the 5 hours of me being here all that has happened is they took my blood pressure and even then they couldn’t do that properly.

  6. Review titled Excellent Care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Taken to A&E by emergency ambulance after a nasty fall out of bed at home. All staff very friendly, reassuring, caring and professional. After assessing me and checking bloods etc, the doctor arranged a ct scan for my head and neck and also very effective pain relief. After they got the results, they let me know all was well and After arranging some short term pain medication for home, I was discharged and returned home. All the staff were pleasant, polite, caring, professional and very very patient. They made the effort to listen and I believe they truly cared about my situation. Couldn't ask for better care or service.

  8. Review titled Excellent Phlebotomist

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Jemima - Posted on 11 May 2023

I went for a blood test today but due to my condition, I don't have very good veins and it is often very difficult to find one or get enough blood from one. I have often been poked with needles in my hands, wrists and arms dozens of times and this can make me feel faint and nauseous when it goes on too long! I told my phlebotomist this and she was so patient and understanding and made sure to find a vein before trying. I appreciated it so much and she was so considerate and made the experience very positive for me!

  9. Review titled Fantastic Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was referred on the Tuesday and seen on the Friday. A big thank you to the consultant and all staff in the urology department. The procedure lasted a lot longer than I expected, due to a persistent bleed in my bladder that I had for several days prior. The team persevered and eventually stopped it. I can’t thank them enough for how I was treated and kept informed throughout. I certainly wasn’t expecting to be seen and treated so quickly. Absolutely an amazing outstanding experience with the Queen Elizabeth. Thank you again.

  10. Review titled Would rather suffer then go back

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 17 April 2023

I phoned 111 and was given an appt with the gatdoc (absolutely amazing care and treatment) she referred to to a&e and waited for over an hour to be triaged- triage nurse took 3 phone calls whilst I was in the room including other patients personal details and conditions. Felt very dismissed whilst explaining why I was sent here from the gp (even with a letter explaining the prognosis she had made and what tests she believed needed doing). Blood work and scan done and waited a further 4 hours for results due to microbiology being down and bloods having to be sent to another hospital. Finally saw a doctor who didn’t seem like she had a care in the world was very rude and dismissive of symptoms, I was more than understanding of the pressure she was under especially as it was during the jr doctor strike days, but she was rude to me and my mum. She did a very small examination and belittled everything I explained to her and said that I was fine and exaggerating the pain and told me to stop taking pain meds (even though I had surgery a matter of days before at a different hospital- thankfully). After blood work came back she said I was fine and did not need any other medication. I went to see the gp a few days later as symptoms had not improved and was told to go to a&e I went to a different hospital and was found to have a major blockage in the urinary tract and had a major infection, the original gp wanted me to have a scan on my kidneys as she believed there was a blockage but was dismissed. Having worked in a different trust within the nhs the QE seemed quite adequately staffed even with the strikes and although the waiting times being significantly shorter then in my trust I would rather sit for the extra hours and get proper care and treatment then in the QE with the disrespect I was treated with- especially towards another health care professional.
