    After a really bad experience for my first IUS placement with my GP and being unable to get them to replace it when it was due, I decided to try private care. Boy was I not disappointed! I was treated from my GP appointment through to my post-procedural discharge with the utmost kindness and respect. I was given opportunity to discuss everything, including whether or not I wanted pain relief and given as much time as I needed to recover - can recommend the hot chocolate in recovery! Everyone from the readily admin team and customer support centre to the consultant and his theatre team were fast, efficient and took care of me when I was anxious and woozy post-procedure. I feel totally looked after and have total confidence booking in with them again for anything else I need in the future. Thank you Nuffield Taunton!

    I was admitted for cataract surgery last week, feeling very nervous re the pending experience. However from admission to discharge, I was treated by all concerned with care & reassurance. The surgeon talked me through the procedure, & the team all put me at ease. On discharge, the nurse was very friendly (& patient) as she talked me through the post-op regime I should observe in the coming few weeks. I departed very impressed & totally satisfied!!

    2nd cataract surgery carried out very efficiently by surgeon and theatre team,however the nursing staff and general facility was far below the standard I have experienced on previous occasions at this hospital.The room was dark and the TV didn’t work.The nurse didn’t introduce herself,talked about herself,dropped the pupil-dilating med.which delayed the theatre.Then took nearly two hours to locate follow up eye drops and provide discharge letter.When asked if they were short staffed I was told no they were just busy and it was Friday afternoon! The staff were unprofessional referring in the corridor for all to hear about”the old guy who had a general in room…” Because my previous visit for my first cataract had been a very positive experience I was quite happy to leave without proper discharge procedure but anyone going through this for the first time or with any anxiety issues would have found this experience quite traumatic.
