  1. Review titled Still waiting for results after surgery

    by Balletshoes17 - Posted on 15 December 2023

I had surgery 4 months ago and was told after the surgery that I would have a follow-up appointment within 4 months after I had the MRI that I needed. I had the MRI 3 months ago and I am still waiting for the results, and there seems to be no appointment in sight. It’s getting ridiculous and isn’t fair when anxiety is already high about what the results could potentially be.

  2. Review titled Dedicated staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I stayed in the hospital from 10th till 15th September 2023. The care I had was very overwhelmed me from each of the staff who cared for me. As a first time mother I had lots of worries before my baby girl was born. All the staff were reassuring and very caring towards me. I don’t know all the names of staff, but all the midwifes and doctors who took care of me were great, some of them went beyond to help me to welcome our baby girl on 12th of September 2023, especial mention to the doctor who helped me to deliver my baby girl. After giving birth of my baby girl, I had major blood loss. Huge thank you to everyone who saved my life on the day. Thank you, please keep the good job.

The worst hospital you could come to I wouldn't advise any pregnant woman to come here.. left me for 3 days cause they had no beds.. dr told me if they brought my baby c section it could possible cause autism and adhd at 37 weeks but they had already started me of at 37 weeks so no matter what I was already in labour! Because of those drs.. 24 hours later still no bed on labour ward.. c section was offered pushed back because of hand over pushed back because they don't think they should over night If you want to be treated with proper car and respect for you and your baby wellfare do not come here

  5. Review titled Waiting time for scan

    by festivityrz73 - Posted on 08 August 2023

I have been told my sample of urine was contaminated and I need to pick up another sample. I have excruciating back pain and have a high risk pregnancy and I still have not had a scan yet to see if baby is ok. My friend who is also under this hospital due 2 days after me has already had a scan and knows the gender of her baby. Meanwhile I have to wait a further week for a scan due to my urine sample being contaminated. Very disappointed

  6. Review titled Not being listened to

    by maytc87 - Posted on 09 August 2023

I had my baby two weeks ago and had a lovely pool birth. The problems started afterwards when I had a large bleed over 1000mls which was dealt with quickly. The next morning I had to wait 5 hours to be discharged, they told me my iron level was down to 85 and I needed to take oral iron. I explained that I couldn’t take oral iron. In my first pregnancy I needed an iron infusion, but no one listened to me. After being sent home I contacted my GP to get some iron as this was not given to me, my GP was astonished that I was not given an iron infusion before I left the hospital. Also the iron level documented on my discharge was one that was taken weeks before my delivery My GP has since spoken to the hospital and I’ve now been contacted to go back in for an iron infusion. This all could have been avoided if someone had listened to me and understood that I cannot take oral iron.

  7. Review titled Sent home with an infection

    by Lj_016 - Posted on 07 July 2023

Absolutely disgraceful hospital service, in my view. Sent home with an infection same day as giving birth, which has now led to life threatening condition and a result in surgery being needed.

  8. Review titled I've waited far too long

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Joanne McCall - Posted on 22 February 2024

I was referred to Gynae back in March 2022. I waited a year to even be seen. In the meantime I had to visit A&E at Aintree due to the excruciating pain I was in. The consultant refused to look at the ultrasound diagnosing my condition and ordered one of his own. I had that in June 2023 and have yet to be called for a follow up appointment. I am in constant daily pain and prescribed morphine by my GP. Its ruined my life and my health is in tatters. I felt dismissed by the consultant I saw who never even looked at my extensive medical history at the same hospital and he couldn't access my previous ultrasound and ordered another. That was 8 months ago. I feel so let down and no doubt will have my life in immediate danger before I am even acknowledged or treated. This is not acceptable.

  10. Review titled Poor maternity experience

    by Kutu21 - Posted on 05 July 2023

I am writing this message about my experience with Liverpool women hospitals midwives - the ones that take care of the baby and mom on their first days together. I had a really had a bad experience with them one morning in June and with the night shift staff. It is my first time being a mom and my first time breastfeeding. I had one midwife who came to me at night on Thursday because my baby was crying so much and I don’t know how to calm him down. They took my baby off me in a way I didn't like and shouted at me that I was breastfeeding in wrong position, suggesting that I didn’t understand English. That made me so sad and I really was so tired because I hadn’t slept from the day I give birth as the other midwives when I asked for pain relief didn't come back for up to 2 hours. Also they were so rude with my husband, telling him we will not open the door for you if you go outside even for toilet but he needs to stay with me. We have no family here and I am so tired, that was really rude and a shame. I will never forget what happened for me in my last day in hospital and first time as mom.
