  1. Review titled Excellent Teams.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 25 August 2022

I came into this hospital for full hip replacement surgery. The Consultant was excellent, Surgical and Anesthetic Teams were absolutely outstanding. I felt completely cared for, informed and respected, throughout my 3 day stay. The ward provision was very impressive. Ward staff generally very good. Standards of Cleanliness, faultless. Physiotherapists were excellent and very empathetic. Unfortunately, the menu was really not nice at all. The food was the only notable exception to the general standard of excellence. I noticed that the staff were extremely busy and staff absence through illness did not seem to be covered, so I had to wait for some medication to be administered, on two occasions. As this was pain relief, I could have done with that being done on time. All in all, I was left wishing that every NHS hospital was as good as Hexham. I am very grateful for my treatment there, even though I waited 22 months for my appointment, it was worth the wait. Thank you to everyone at the Hospital.

Hello, Thank you very much for your review of Hexham General Hospital. Firstly, I hope that you are recovering well from your surgery? I am sorry that you had to wait so long for your appointment, but am glad that you felt it was worth the wait and pleased that you were impressed overall by the quality of the staff, the care you received, information and cleanliness. I am sorry that you had to wait for pain relief due to staffing pressures and that you were not impressed by the standard of the food. The team will be delighted to receive your feedback and will note the areas for improvement. I will also pass your comments on to our catering service. Thank you again and best wishes, Ryan Burkhard Patient Experience Programme Northumbria Healthcare Foundation Trust

  2. Review titled First Class Treatment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Karyn Stafford - Posted on 26 June 2022

I was admitted to Ward 3 on 22/06/22 for a pre arranged major gynaecological operation. The care I received from every member of Staff was first class from the moment I entered the Ward until I was discharged later that day. They made me feel at ease, explained step by step what was the order of the day and kept me informed throughout. I was especially impressed with the meeting I had before Theatre with the Surgeon and the Anaesthetist. They explained what was going to take place in a manner which was comforting and very reassuring. Hexham General Hospital is immaculate and even though I had to travel 40 miles to get there, I would not hesitate to return should the need ever arise in the future. I am now on day 4 post operation and feel my recovery is going very well. Many thanks and keep up the excellent work you all do.

I recently had a procedure on my hip in ward 3. From the minute I walked in it was more like a hotel, the place was spotless and the staff were friendly and welcoming. After admission I felt I was well informed of everything that was going to happen and put at ease, every member of staff in ward 3 and theatre couldn't have done more to make sure I was well looked after and comfortable before and after surgery. Thankyou to every member of staff for the amazing work you do .

I had day surgery 10/6/22 for a hip arthroscopy. The staff were absolutely amazing and put me at ease when my husband wasn't allowed to stay with me. Everywhere is clean and was really lovely. 10/10 for everyone involved with my care on Ward 3 and in theatre
