    The hospital has a lovely environment, very quiet and pleasant. I had an appointment within the X-ray department, and the staff were extremely lovely. They made me feel very welcomed, relaxed and comfortable. The service was also very efficient.

    I have had hip replacement operations on both hips at Hexham Hospital, one in December 2023 and the second in April 2024. I wish to express my gratitude to the orthopaedic teams and nursing staff of Ward 3 who cared for me. I received the best of treatment at Hexham. All the staff were kind, caring and professional. I felt secure and safe in their hands, which I'm sure helped my recovery. At each stage I was kept well informed and reassured. Thank you so much to you all for your dedication and hard work - it is greatly appreciated.

    I spoke to a lady on the phone today,having had an appointment cancelled back in August and no further contact since then I didn’t really know who or which hospital within the trust that I needed to contact.i also didn’t actually have much information to give her aoart from my NHS number,but she tried to help me and gave me some advise re the pain I was having and then put me through to another hospital in the hope that they could help further as the information she needed couldn’t be accessed.within ten minutes they found my details and i now have an appointment to be seen at wansbeck later this month. Thank you for the time,patience and care you gave me this afternoon.

    I caught my leg on my wheelchair whilst transferring & it was badly gashed. We were near the metro centre but it didn’t occur to me to go anywhere but HGH. My husband & I were taken into a treatment room. I must stress we were treated with the utmost respect & caring. The nurses who treated my leg were totally professional, pleasant & empathic. The list goes on! The prime minister wants to hand a few honours out up here. Because, every single one of the staff whatever colour uniform are just fantastic. Even the cat knows where he’s well off! So, a huge huge thank you to you all.

  5. Review titled Ridiculously long wait - possibly for ever??

    I attended a clinic on January 4th 2024 to be measured for insoles. I was told they would arrive in about 6 weeks. It is now 4 months - still no sign. I also find it impossible to phone the correct department to find out where on earth they are. What is the point of my consultant referring me for a service that does not work???

    I arrived at 7.15am and was 2nd on list for a rigid cystoscopy with general anaesthetic. All members of staff from the first to the last were friendly and informative. Many patient confirmation checks were made and, a first for me, the wrist band was put on my dominate wrist so that the cannula would be on the other. Cleanliness throughout was excellent and I even did a damp tissue test on the floor (I’ve experienced dirty ward floors in a different hospital). There was no rush, attention during recovery was excellent. Because of my cold intolerance I was given a special warming blanket, sheet and duvet - blissful warmth. The hub layout of preparation rooms is a great idea and staff can respond quickly. I cannot fault anything about this day surgery unit 10/10

    Comfortable bed and pleasant surroundings. Considerate and caring staff. Staff were on hand for all the patient’s needs. Efficient procedure. I was kept very well informed by very attentive staff. Super Hospital. 10/10

    Trying to speak to someone in Gynaecology. No luck. Several calls, still no luck. 08448 118 118 is the number given on the NHS website and there is no warning that there is a premium rate charge. BT bill shows £2.89 for 8 minutes four calls in all adds up to £6.48 It's more expensive than parking!!
