Excellent caring team. Can’t thank them enough. The reception staff, nurses and the doctor were all very kind.

I attended for a gastroscopy today. I was very anxious but all the staff I dealt with were kind, caring and reassuring. Everything was explained carefully and I can’t fault anything. The consultant was also friendly, kind and put me at ease.

  3. Review titled Shocking

Shocking experience at Harrogate A&E today. Came in with my 89 year old Dad who had a fall and was suffering from chest pains. Initially seen by triage quite quickly but 5 hours later still in a the hospital. Told my dad had one person in front of him, but then watched Dr after Dr call different people through who were nowhere near as poorly as my dad. After 7 hours of not being seen, we left, my Dad had had enough. Absolutely disgraceful treatment of a man who has paid into the NI all his life!!

It was necessary to have a colonoscopy to diagnose a recent problem. My appointment was made quickly and l received every care and attention from nurses and consultant in charge. Great consideration for my well-being and comfort.

  5. Review titled Amazing care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

From the beginning of my journey with the Orthopaedic team and colleagues I experienced 200% care. I cannot praise this department enough. I was put at ease , consultant took great care explaining procedure and loved the fact everyone introduced themselves and explained what they were doing and why. Would like to say a huge thank you to them all and they are a credit to the NHS.

  6. Review titled Zero Compassion&Care

Rated 1 star out of 5

Dreadful experience and zero care&compassion from A&E department. Rude and uncaring staff who had no respect for patients yet complain when they don’t receive any? Ambulance crew were amazing but it all went downhill once we arrived.

  7. Review titled Outstanding staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was brought to A and E by ambulance after a heavy fall outside. I was seen and given tests, pain treatment and x-rays by care staff, and eventually saw a doctor who confirmed a fracture to my shoulder, and fitted me with a special sling to immobilise the shoulder whle it healed. I would have been allowed to go home at that point, but I passed out, so I was kept in for tests and observation until the following afternoon when I was allowed home. I could see for myself how busy A and E was. I had a long wait, but staff were working flat out to deal wth many patients. All the staff I saw were patient, cheerful and kind in spite of the pressure they were under, and I am grateful for the care I received.

  8. Review titled speedy care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

l brought my son to emergency on Sunday morning with abdominal pain which sounded like appendicitis and after thorough diagnostic procedures it was confirmed as appendicitis and it was necessary to remove the appendix. That evening he was operated on and today 24 hours later he was discharged. Well done to all concerned, such care, attention and efficiency. Amazing, could not have received better care. Thanks to everyone.

I was looked after well, treated with kindness and respect. Every step of my operation and details explained in full. I was in as a day patient and if I could I would always come here for any treatment in future. 10/10 If I could I would say 20/10 Fantastic staff from moment we walked in until we left. Very impressed . Big thanks to everyone Harrogate Hospital. 😃

  10. Review titled Filthy

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by MaggyC - Posted on 05 March 2024

We were quite pleased, today, to get a (tight) parking space as soon as we got upstairs in the multi-storey. But does anyone ever clean the stairwell? It's filthy, old leaves (from last Autumn?) and mud all over the deck... the paint peeling, the entrance dark... must be a cracker going in and out at night if you're a lone female... not scary at all... If I get replies defending the hospital, saying that this is a concession and not their responsibility then that's worse. There'll be a contract. That contract either mentions keeping the place clean or it doesn't. If it does then no-one is checking and if it doesn't mention cleanliness then why doesn't it?
