  1. Review titled The best experience, great practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

The best experience and treatment I have had! The hospital is super clean, the staff are very friendly. The doctor was attentive and his level of care was first class. The whole experience was made easy (I was very scared) by the great staff and by the very professional specialist. Thank you!

  2. Review titled No Aftercare

Rated 2 stars out of 5

I had a surgery and was told recovery will be two weeks, there was complications after the surgery and I busted the hospital on two occasions and I was not treated how I should have been treated. I contacted the hospital and they have not got responded to my phone calls. I had requested the Dr to call me back. I have been having extreme difficulty in getting the dressing changed every day. The Dr did not provide and aftercare plan and has not got back to me, as my stitches have opened.

  4. Review titled Awful

Rated 1 star out of 5

Cancelled my appointment for surgery the day before because they needed a blood test but couldn’t draw blood. Enquired why it was so important, apparently it was just for my blood type. I said I already know my blood type, it’s on my birth certificate and it doesn’t change, so it’s stupid to cancel it. Zero logic in this policy, extremely disruptive

  5. Review titled Admin gone awry

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Dagmar Fazackerley - Posted on 20 November 2023

I come for annual breast cancer checks and last year was informed that my mammogram was clear immediately by the doctor. This yea, however, i have received 2 identical letters to give me the results. Maybe, the administration needs looking at. Also, last year I was given the appointement for this year at the desk but up to now I have heard nothing about the check up next year. Why?

  6. Review titled Couldn’t fault any aspect of the experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was given a choice of hospitals from my NHS Referral, two of which were Ramsay Healthcare partnering to provide NHS services (the other three were NHS hospitals all requiring urgent improvement at their last inspection) I chose blindly out of the two Ramsay ones and ended up at Buckshaw. I’ve been here three times, one for an initial appointment with consultant, one (just three weeks later) for an MRI, and then finally today (5 weeks from appointment) for a Colonoscopy. Each and everytime there was no wait, they were actually running early on all three occasions, private 1-2-1 care given and looked after to the highest standard. Thoroughly recommend choosing this hospital if you are given the choice through the NHS, especially if you prefer a quieter environment or get anxious around medical settings

  7. Review titled Great practice and service

I attended the Hospital for a physiotherapy appointment, following outpatient surgery at Fulwood Hall Hospital. The Physiotherapist was brilliant throughout the short time I was there, and provided me with a splint for my hand, which fits very well.

  8. Review titled Great experience

Recently had minor surgery here following flexible sigmoidoscopy last year. I cannot fault anything! I've never had a general anaesthetic before and was nervous, but all staff made me feel so welcome and valued. The recovery pod that I stayed in was really comfortable and private, and the atmosphere was calm and quiet, which made me feel relaxed and almost like I wasn't in a hospital. I felt that everything was explained to me in a way that I understood, and all staff took time to chat to me to keep me calm and informed through the day. I was well looked after - before, during and after the operation and while I'm certainly not planning on having any more surgery any time soon, if something were to crop up in the future, I would definitely refer into this hospital if possible.

Had my appointment cancelled the day before I was due to have a procedure with only a voicemail being left with no explanation. After being anxious about the whole thing and also taking an unpaid day off work for it to be cancelled last minute. Shocking to be honest.

  10. Review titled No communication, no information, no surgeon?

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Michael John Reynolds - Posted on 06 July 2022

I am sat here as we speak in a recovery pod. I have been in here for 2.5 hours, no water offered, and no explanation of delay. Very little communication from nursing staff. Why ask 4 people to turn up for Minor surgery at the same time I've 5:00 pm when the Surgeon isn't due till 6 and still hasn't arrived and it's 7:15. Absolutely fuming.
