Rang this morning at 8.56am and was kept on hold for 12 minutes as number 1 in the call queue. Please explain how the phone call isn't even acknowledged.

2 years ago I would just like to thank the lovely receptionist who I spoke to this morning. About my poorly mother. She was very helpfull for me. And she managed to get me some medication. For dinner time. I was very greatful for this. Many thanks once again...

Ive been trying to get a doctor to sign a prescription for over a month, i’ve been on this medication for over 3 years and every month when I order it they have no idea what it’s for, I ask every time surely it should state on my medical records. Then to be told we will put it on repeat for you and the next month it’s the same issue. When I told the receptionist if I don’t have my medication I end up in the hospital, the receptionist didn’t seem interested at all and kept trying to palm me off. I’ve been with this surgery since I was born and it seems to be going downhill fast.

I called the surgery for advice this morning, and the person who answered the phone was extremely helpful and understanding. She also offered a phone consultation with a GP in the afternoon, which I found extremely helpful and reassuring. With all of the stress that everyone at the surgery must be under, my experience has been one of immense gratitude.

I’m writing here from the perspective of a person that in work has to deal with most surgeries in the are. I find Yorkshire Street Surgery to be one of the best. Yea there are things that I would ideally change but they are issues common to all practices and because of the pressures they are under. When the issue have needed to be dealt with fast they have been and reasonably timed appointments have been available for things that can wait a bit. Follow up tests and results have been completed without delay. Thank you for your work as this can’t be easy.

Rang the surgery 8 times yesterday late afternoon to chase up a missed call I received from them. On my 2nd to last call I was second in the queue. I waited 17 minutes 20 secs whilst I moved to 1st person in the queue only for the call to be ended. I was cut off. Service has deteriorated considerably. It was getting onto 5pm at that point and made me wonder if staff are reluctant to answer around that time as it's towards the end of the day.

Attended confirmed appointment. Directed by receptionist to seating area - waited half an hour and then asked when I'd be seen. Was told they didn't know I was there and was accused of not coming in via the from entrance - bizarre. Was told I'd have to wait if I wanted to be seen. Maybe this is how the NHS manages waiting lists these days - pretending patients aren't there.

I changed to this practice over 3 years ago. Since changing this practice I have found the doctors and nurses to be caring, considerate and focused. They listen to your concerns and respond very quickly especially when referrals need to be made for hospital treatment. They are great at following up with any health checks with a phone call or text. The administration staff are excellent also. They listen to you carefully with compassion and try to arrange appointments where they are able. I am very happy with the service and do strongly recommend this practice to friends and family. My experience here compared to other surgeries has been stress and hassle free so well done and thanks to everyone who is part of the practice.
