I was extremely worried when I started to have symptoms I feared were ovarian cancer (my mum currently is having chemotherapy for this) I phoned the surgery and explained my concerns. A doctor phoned me back within half and hour and told me to come in that day. After an examination she ordered blood tests for ovarian cancer. I popped back to reception to book the blood tests. A nurse was in the reception and offered to do them right away to save me coming back in 2 weeks time! I had the results which were all clear 48 hours later. I can't begin to say how grateful I am to the receptionist, doctor, and nurse who helped me that day. Such kind and friendly members of staff. Thank you all so much.

Review titled Fantastic blood test service

I called in this afternoon to have a routine blood test as I have been placed statins. Once again the level of service from Hatherley Surgery was fantastic. The appointment was on time and I hardly felt a thing when the needle was inserted, which was a clear reflection of the clinical expertise of the nurse. No one likes having blood tests, but the overall experience was made so much better by the outstanding bedside manner of the nurse. We swopped some light hearted banter and having had a very stressful day, this was a tremendous way of relieving tension. Having the blood test was the highlight of my day and I left the surgery laughing and smiling. But at the same time this is not surprising. I have been a patient of Hatherley Surgery for the past 30 years or so and during this time both myself and my wife have always received excellent treatment. Indeed it was through the very quick action of one of the doctors in 2000 that my wife is still alive. Thank you so much.

Can't get to see a doctor? At 11:50 today I went on NHS 111 On-line to check on what to do about an ailment. Was advised to phone the GP surgery. Within 5 mins I was through and after a brief chat they said I'd get a call from a doctor within 1½ hours. Less than 5 mins later the doc called and fixed an appointment at Hatherley Practice for 12:20. By half-past the prescription had been sent to the chemist and before 12:45 I had medication in my hands. ... All in under an hour!! Bravo, NHS
