    Early today, I rang reception to make an appointment at The New Springwells Surgery in Billingborough. I am in pain and discomfort from my jaw. It has been like this for a week and not getting better. I had put off ringing as I hoped it would improve. It is not a dental problem. My jaw will not close properly so difficult to eat as I cannot chew. The pain has now spread to my ear. I cannot have an appointment to see a doctor until 7 days. I am in shock at how I was treated by the receptionist who was abrupt, unprofessional, uncaring and not qualified She could offer no alternative. At various points of my call, she discussed my problem with another person. I am told to go to A&E, but this isn’t a emergency ! I am 77, how do I get to Grantham, Lincoln or Boston ? At the moment my car is off the road. A most unsatisfactory and very uncaring telephone conversation from the receptionist, who is making decisions that a doctor should be making. Pushing me into a hospital visit, is putting me in an already over crowded waiting room that is breaking at the seams and unable to cope. Most unsatisfactory.

    I contacted my GP surgery as very unwell. I was reassured a nurse would call me back. An hour later a nurse practitioner called me back and discussed my situation. Her telephone assessment was thorough and she listened to me. She arranged appropriate treatment ready within the hour. I am so greatful for their timely service and highly recommend this practice to anyone in the area. Thank you springwells for being such a fantastic hardworking practice!
