    This surgery is excellent, no problems booking an appointment. Receptionists are friendly. Would definitely recommend.

    I have had great difficulty trying to get an appointment. I start ringing at 8 in the morning and listen to the repetitive message stating that opening is 8:30am. Once the clock reaches 8:30, the message states that all appointments have been taken, how I don’t know. After many attempts at this method I visited the surgery directly to try and book an appointment directly, only to be told by the not so friendly receptionist that I could only make the appointment via the phone despite explaining that I have been doing this and nothing was happening. I dread to think how many peoples health is being compromised over this unhelpful, rude attitude. I don’t go to the doctors very often as I’m fortunate enough to be healthy on the whole. It seems that it is now a lottery and some luck to be able to see a doctor despite having paid into the NHS all of my working life. This is a disgrace state of affairs

    Thankyou for taking the time to leave your comments and feedback. Our apologies that you have not received the service that you expect. This is not the aim of any of our team. It is well reported on the news that the demand on General practice significantly out weighs the capacity that we have available. Although we are providing more appointments in 2023 than previous years we are still unable to accommodate the significant raise in demand for appointments. As a General Practice we are encouraged by the local ICB to maintain an open patient list in order to reduce the impact on the neighboring surgeries, that are also under significant pressure. We again apologies for the service you have experienced and assure you that everyone at The Vernon and Lanes Medical Centre aim to provide the best care possible whilst dealing with the increasing challenges faced by the NHS.
