I was having very serious period pain so I called the surgery up I was very pleased that it was a female receptionist I told her what was wrong and she could tell I was a bit embarrassed so she asked if I would like a chaperone. I was really surprised of course I said yes.they also told me to come in straight away. I meet the chaperone and she escorted me in the the surgery. I am very pleased with the examination I had and the medication prescribed. Thank you grove road

I have recently moved to the area and I suffer with diabetes. I was not feeling to good and called the surgery Friday lunchtime they told me to come in Saturday morning. I was thoroughly checked out and given tips on what to eat and not to eat in order to keep my diabetes under control .this was the first time this had happened to me and I am very very pleased that I was given this Saturday appointment. I took the advice and am coping well .

  3. Review titled Friendly practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I work in the city and recently fell of my bike with a suspected fractured wrist. I called the surgery first and they told me to come in ASAP. The treated me well and bandage me up that saved me from a 4 hour wait had I be told to go to A and E . I am really pleased with the treatment I received from this surgery

  4. Review titled Never any weekend appointments

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Despite being part of 'The Hub' and claiming that they have Saturday and late night appointments, its just not true. I tried and tried to get a Saturday appointment and they just said they weren't available every single time.

  6. Review titled Doesn't take patients seriously

Rated 2 stars out of 5

There is an empathy barrier I've felt at this practice verging on medical gaslighting at times. Difficult to get an appointment within a reasonable time frame and even when you can get one it's often not worthwhile. The default is always telephone consultancy which is an absolute abomination to medical practice. It feels like they want to keep you at arms length. I'm convinced they require some serious communication training in empathy and compassion. You won't get it here just sent on your way, illness or ailment left untreated.

  7. Review titled Receptionist creates a barrier to healthcare for homeless

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 21 November 2022

Requested forms to register at surgeries. I was asked to bring photo ID and proof of address. I explained that I am currently homeless yet the receptionist insisted I produce a photocopy of a tenancy agreement or letter from the council as I have not received post at my temporary address yet. This has created a barrier to accessing a GP to assess a lump in my breast and the receptionist position on the matter does not align with NHS information which states that ID is not actually essential to register at any surgery. It is merely desirable. Thanks for the delay in having my lump assessed at a time when I have real problems to deal with rather than clerical box ticking exercises likely due to an overly fastidious administrator.
