I saw a locum doctor who was very professional and thorough. He explained all that he did and what to expect going forward. I also loved that there was no rush in his care / diagnosis and consultation. I also saw a nurse who was very caring and showed concern for my issues. There was also no rush in her treatment / consultation with me. She also took the time to give me advice about ongoing treatment. The receptionist at the surgery was extremely helpful, going out of her way to help even though the reception window was closed and she was on her lunch break. Being treated like this makes me feel good and like the staff were considerate of my individual needs. In fact, being treated like this is what made me want to provide this feedback!

Just to say thank you to you and your staff. Today on a Saturday a consultant phoned me from UCH regarding an appointment I have next week and asked if he could speak today because he has a busy week and wanted to triage. I just thought of you doctor and how much you care about your work and how I appreciate you all.

Nobody on reception. I was worried about missing my appointment. I feel worried and let down. How was the doctor to know I was there? Why isn't there a self service screen?

Please accept my apologies for not meeting your expectations on this occasion. Elm Practice is a small practice and at times throughout the day we only have one receptionist on duty. Therefore on occasions patients may have to wait a short while for a receptionist to return to her desk. Elm Practice did have a self check in machine but, unfortunately this was vandalise. We looked into replacing it but I am afraid as it cost nearly two thousand pounds to replace the practice thought it was too expensive.
