  1. Review titled Disappointed yet again

After contacting practice with depression and no sleep. Was told to ring for routine appointment 12 day-time first one. I rang and spoke to a lovely lady told to ring each day at 8am ( as if that works last time kept re dialing to be 50th). So I will continue to take nightnurse just to sleep. What has happened to the NHS so worrying you can't afford to be ill.

  2. Review titled Horrendous

I have been with Teldoc around 7 years now or so and since Covid it has because absolutely shocking, I have a B12 deficiency which i need injections every 3 months for the rest of my life for and do you think I can ever get an appointment? Currently well over a month overdue again now and apparently they can’t book my next appointment at the time of my injection even though this is for life.. told every time I ring to ring back at 8am, always at full capacity and when you do finally get through you’re told there’s no appointments left and to ring again it’s shocking. Experiencing a lot of trouble with my hands which could be down to my B12 causing nerve damage but instead of an appointment with a DR they told me they could only offer a physio appointment! How that will diagnose me il never know. Service and experience overall with miserable staff behind the counter is appalling

  3. Review titled No general appointments

Rated 1 star out of 5

Tried to book a longer than normal appointment after speaking to a lovely lady pharmacist from Malinslee. For numerous problems. Only to be told there was not any. And ring back a 8am. This service is just totally unacceptable. What is going wrong with Teldoc. I can most probably guarantee that after sitting in a que with 30 other people that there wilbe no appointments tomorrow either. This is just an on going issue. And why Teldoc has not been sorted out is beyond me. You are expanding Telford more people more houses but no more doctors and facilities.

  5. Review titled Very poor service

Rated 1 star out of 5

Had a blood test, received a text to make a non urgent appointment to discuss results, rang up waited in a que of over 20, to be told no non urgent appointments available, can I continue to call every day until one becomes available!! Well no not really, I am not allowed a mobile phone at work (I work for NHS) ironic, and it looks a bit unprofessional calling your gp when your working with your own patients, so I will take my chances and hope that whatever is wrong will right itself, I really feel for all those people out there desperate for a doctor's appointment, it's shocking how they feel this is an adequate service, I'm ashamed to say I work for the NHS , it is definitely not for everyone at the point of contact anymore, saying that I do have people tell me they are very happy with their GP practice, so clearly Teldoc is failing in some way and it needs addressing.

Dear Patient, Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear that you have been unable to arrange an appointment. Our phone lines can be busy. An alternative is to complete an online consult via https://teldoc.org/online-consult/ or use the NHS or Patient Access apps. Yours Sincerely, Patient Experience Team

  6. Review titled Terrible service, clerical staff and appointments

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Louise Tippings - Posted on 19 February 2024

Very disappointed with this GP practice and Teldoc overall. I dialed 112 times this morning to get in to the call queue and when I did I was number 47. I have an outstanding complaint from January that I haven't had a response to & the consultation I had today and in the past have been a waste of time. They don't take in to account other medical teams that write to them about their patient and the outcome is very dissatisfying. The advice I got this morning from a GP was incorrect and not going to help my condition at all, what they recommended is natural treatment that has been proven to not work. Feeling very emotional having to battle with my GP surgery all the time. My consultation was by phone today but a face to face one would have been so much better. I was also told on Friday that no routine appointments are available for the foreseeable future. I understand the stress they are under but patients need correct treatment, guidance and a caring GP that works with you not against you.

  7. Review titled Improvement idea

Rated 3 stars out of 5

Recommended after a diabetic review to have a lump on my foot investigated, saw a doctor I think, then sent for an X-ray. Received results by text that X-ray normal if still worried contact surgery. Went this morning saw a paramedic they expressed concern that I did not arrange physio as stated in text. Explained that my text did not mention physio, they then looked at the X-ray and previous notes, inspected lump, disappeared and then came back with a colleague I think a doctor not certain. Left feeling quite anxious that no one seemed to know what to do. May I suggest that first your communication process for diagnosing is improved and secondly the professional seeing the patient identifies exactly who they are or even better wear a Name Badge coupled with Profession.

  8. Review titled Waste of my time

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 10 May 2023

I visited this surgery today, first time for myself in years and was incredibly disappointed by the service. I arrived 5 minutes before my due time and sat waiting for almost 15 minutes before getting called in, only to be told I was late booking in so I only have a few minutes to discuss my problem. I checked in with plenty of time to spare but was told most of my appointment had gone so I only had a few minutes left. The appointment was hurried and I didn't feel I was listened to properly. I've come away feeling really let down.

  9. Review titled Impossible to access practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Keith Tudor - Posted on 27 March 2023

Having both fallen ill recently, and also having withdrawal symptoms from a drug administered to me by Teldoc a long time ago , I needed to contact the doctor, I rang when the practice opened, but could not get through at all , "due to a high volume of calls", this appears to be a daily pattern, where you are supposed to call again the next day, and then the next day, and then the next day, seemingly for infinity, or until you die, or the illness cures itself ? Eventually, I had to call 111 to make an appointment at the Princess royal Hospital. They were able to see me the next day, this resulted in my having to pay huge parking fees, and petrol costs etc, that would have been unneccessary if Teldoc had not failed to meet it's obligations to their patients. The last three times I have managed to talk to someone at Teldoc, it has been, a Pharmacist, a paramedic, and a nurse, all of which were helpful, but where were the doctors ?. This service is shameful, and in my opinion breaches the contract between doctor and patients. I have paid NHS contributions for over 40 years, and this is the service I can expect ! , this should not be , (and was not in earlier times), considered to be a reasonable patient experience. This "service", requires a thorough audit of it's activities, in particular regarding the percentage of patients it sees in relation to the number of people who attempt access to it, ( not just the number that get through), and who they are actually seen by, what percentage are doctors ?, what percentage are other miscellaneous medical personnel, ie, Pharmacists, paramedics, nurses etc.

Dear Mr Tudor Thank you for raising your concerns. We are very sorry to learn that you were unhappy with the access issues you have encountered. Unfortunately, the increase in patient demand is a national issue. Demand on our service has increased exponentially and Teldoc are doing our very best to manage within the resources we have. Our call volumes, call waiting times and call demand are continually monitored and we endeavour to provide call handling capacity to meet this demand the best we can. However, there are particular times of the day, for example 8am, when it would be impossible for us to match call volume. There is a national shortage of General Practitioners and other senior clinical staff and the promise of more GPs and Nurses into the NHS over the past decade has not materialised which makes recruitment very difficult. Together with the increasingly expectations of some patients, the pressure continues to increase on the services we provide. For many years General Practice and other healthcare organisations have utilised a wider clinical workforce of highly trained clinicians (Pharmacist, Nurse Practitioners, paramedic, Physician Associate) It is good to hear that your experience of these clinicians has been positive. Please be reassured we take all complaints and concerns seriously and are continually trying to improve our service. You are welcome to contact us on teldoc.info@nhs.net if you wish us to respond further. Kind regards Patient Experience Lead, Teldoc

  10. Review titled Great service

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Nicola Harris - Posted on 22 February 2023

Completed an e consultation form, was called back by a doctor within the stated time scale. Dr arranged for a blood test and examination for the next day and requested a scan. I was seen for my blood test promptly and and the advanced care practitioner saw me early . So far , could not have asked for better service.
