After a nasty fall and a couple of medical issues i was seen quickly by my GP who arranged for some tests that have thankfully reassured me. He was kind and understanding and phoned me to explain the results. I have nothing but praise for all the staff at Stourport Medical Centre. Thankyou and keep up the good work.

Staff here are friendly, helpful and experienced. At my recent appointment with a nurse, she explained everything and answered my questions; a polite, efficient and professional service.

  5. Review titled Receptionist

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Had a query today about appointments on Patients’ Access The Care Navigator I spoke to was more than helpful, friendly and kind, explaining my query perfectly. It’s great to be able to hold your position in the queue enabling a ring back call to save hanging on. Thank you

  6. Review titled Not the best experience...

Rated 3 stars out of 5

Arrived at reception and found greeting was rude and abrupt would rather of used self check in. Hardly ever visit doctors but when I have in past never really had an issue, visited for my son today and was made to feel like I made an appointment for no reason and wasting there time for a bit of peace of mind and no care and compassion for us.

  8. Review titled Helpful doctor

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Emily - Posted on 18 March 2024

I recently relocated to this area and joined the Stourport medical centre, I found all the doctors helpful and felt like they listened to me, all the doctors I saw were brilliant especially the doctor I am seeing at the moment, I felt like she listened to me and was friendly and helpful, I have ongoing health problems and feel like the doctors here care and actually want to help I would recommend seeing any doctor here.

  9. Review titled Woefully incompetent and unconcerned

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 16 February 2024

Every single contact with this GP surgery is a battle. A battle to be heard, to be taken seriously, to get an appointment, to have your notes read accurately... The list goes on. I have been talked to as if I was utterly lacking in intelligence by a doctor who had to have me explain 6 times that she was talking about a different medication to the one I was discussing, despite her reading out the notes of my last appointment. I have made numerous complaints that are still unresolved regarding 'Care Navigators' failing to even once read my triage notes correctly or bother to notice the comment that is flagged up on my notes every time they go to book an appointment. I have had 111 calls where out-of-hours GPs have written to my GP with requests / recommendations only to wait a week for that to be followed up, hear nothing, call and then be told I could book in an appointment in three weeks time to discuss something that should already have led to a course of action. I have had GPs and 'Care Navigators' pretend that the reason for the lack of appointments over the next three weeks (despite it being flagged by other departments as a crisis) was due to the fact that they wanted to maintain continuity of care – even though I had already spoken to half a dozen different doctors about the exact same issue numerous times in the month before because they no longer have time for you to see a regular GP the rest of the time. I have had emergency teams request my GP make an urgent appointment only to be told I could see the doctor in two and a half weeks. There are countless more stories like this, particularly since the most recent changes to how appointments can be made now that long-term conditions are not being managed and continuity of care is no longer possible. But the worst part is that the more patient and polite you are, the less noticed, listened to or respected you seem to be. It's as though to ask for help now and seek medical support is to be a nuisance to those working at this surgery. And as though every ailment can simply be treated by a 'wait and see' approach or a 'one size fits all' prescription without even the barest hint of humanity, empathy or understanding.

Dear Patient, I am so sorry to read about your dissatisfaction with our service, its really disappointing that you feel so let down. We always offer appointments within a 2 week time frame, so I'm slightly confused as to why you suggest you have had to wait three weeks - unless of course it is for a follow-up call? I can assure you, the team do not 'pretend' if they are asking you to wait to speak to a specific GP, it is usually in the best interest of a patient. I would really like to investigate your concerns further, so please do contact me with your details so I can address your concerns. Kind regards. Donna Site Manager
