  1. Review titled Worst surgery

Rated 1 star out of 5

Ridiculous place! Family member had to go to A&E last week where he was given medication and told to take it for a week and to then go and see his GP. We called last week to make the appointment for a weeks time and were told by the call centre that we couldn't make future appointments and to call back on the day. Tried that this morning after ringing bang on 8am, trying to get in the queue until 8.15am, then waiting in the queue until 9.15am to be told there were no appointments left. Managed to get a phone call with a doctor so why can't you get a face to face? It truly is the worst service I've come across. I also tried booking via the online booking system using my NHS login - that was fine but apparently I'm not registered at Shifnal surgery!!!!!!!

  2. Review titled Impossible to get an appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

This has got to be the worst experience with a practice across the uk. Ring at 8am, line is at capacity! Ring later, sorry to need to call at 8am. Try our online system! No appointments available! How ridiculous! Walk in, rudely told you can’t be in here you need to call or book online. Shameful, spend millions building a new surgery but can’t get an appointment

  3. Review titled Waste of money!

Rated 1 star out of 5

Concentrate on employing more staff/clinicians instead of the waste of £1 mill on a sparky new surgery which on the one time I visited the other day, was empty bar 2 receptionists at the desk! The new pilot website! Again pointless, you fill out a very long form then receive an email saying your appt has been triaged and to call them to book in! Another 20 minutes waiting to get through and no surprise, there are no appointments, ring back the next day I'm told! I've given up trying to get my bloods taken now and to speak to a doctor re HRT. Clearly they're not interested. The patient access portal too, never any appointments available either. The caller will tell you they release appointments throughout the day, what a load of rubbish! Avoid this practice. It's a joke!

  4. Review titled Always at capacity on phone.

It's hopeless phoning at 8am as always says at capacity and cuts me off. Had message of doctor to make an appointment about blood results but impossible to do this.

  5. Review titled System is a mess!

Rated 1 star out of 5

It is an impossibility to get an appointment to see any Doctor at this Practice. Last year my daughter had tonsilitis and needed antibiotics but you can't go in and make an appointment, you have to ring up on the day and hope that you can get one. The earliest appointment was 2 weeks away unless I wanted to take her to A&E! Meanwhile she's in pain and ended up having tonsilitis for 6 weeks as when she finally saw the GP she was prescribed a lower dosage of antibiotics then what she should have had. I have a number of health conditions which put me at risk for some things and recently I had some blood tests and it showed some abnormalities for which I am now on medication for, but no one from the practice has rung me to tell me what the abnormalities mean or how the medication is going to impact on other medication I take. Instead, when I tried to make an appointment to speak to the Doctor to find out more information, I cannot get an appointment and am told to ring back every morning to see if one is available. This is not practicable, I work and cannot just wait on the phone for over an hour, waiting to speak to someone, only to find out there are no appointments available. Yet, when you walk down to the surgery the waiting room is empty - as was the case today (14/02/2024). I would not be recommending this practice to anyone.

  7. Review titled Terrible service

Rated 1 star out of 5

Unable to get an appointment for my 1 year old. Been trying to get an appointment for 3 days. When I finally got through, I was offered a very early morning appointment, which unfortunately we couldn't attend, so I requested an afternoon appointment instead and we were advised it wouldn't be possible to book an afternoon appointment until the morning appointments have been filled. We were asked to call back at a later time in hope that there would be an available afternoon slot. However we spoke to the reception team in the surgery who advised this isn't the procedure, but there was nothing they could do as appointment booking is outsourced. Duty of care is shocking. This is just one occasion of poor service and care. If you are new to the area, do not register with the surgery.

  8. Review titled Disappointed today

Rated 4 stars out of 5

Needed telephonic consultation for my son with cough symptoms for few weeks not resolving . Needed to discuss need of antibiotics with doctor, as all family members had similar symptoms resolved eventually requiring antibiotic . I was denied telephonic appointment, saying they only have face to face . I said my son is at school and after telephonic consultation if dr felt need for clinical assessment I can pick them from school. I was replied if they are unwell , why in school . And that they can’t change mode of appointment or help on this occasion and was advised to call 111. I waited for 40 minutes in queue to get this advice . I felt I could be helped but was denied . Very disappointed.

  9. Review titled Waiting scan results in pain-contradictory receptionists

Rated 1 star out of 5

Missed phone call from surgery, so rang up, told to ring back later that day. Rang to be told no appointments for 4 weeks. Receptionists told me to ring for urgent appointment the following day. Rang and told my appointment wasnt marked urgent so couldnt have one. Left not knowing results of a scan and still in pain.

  10. Review titled Undecided

Rated 4 stars out of 5

    by E.Martin - Posted on 31 October 2022

I generally love this surgery, receptionists are always extremely helpful. However, the past 2 visits I have been left feeling like an inconvenience and upset and not being listened to. Both doctors talked over me trying to explain my history and symptoms, both doctors didn’t seem to have an understanding of my history or want to take on board the fact that I may know myself and my condition. Previously I’ve had exceptional service from doctors at this surgery so it was actually very damaging to my self confidence (I have to build myself up to leave the house let alone explain sensitive issues) and this has resulted in increased anxiety which will no doubt turn into the need for further appointments. I don’t want to change surgery but I feel like some of the doctors need a greater awareness of invisible conditions and the importance of not leaving the patient feeling belittled and frustrated by the lack of support. E.g. telling a patient that they “just have to get over it” or that they should “wait for therapy before doing anything”…waiting lists for therapy are approximately 24 months, when a patient is gradually getting worse and cannot leave home alone then there should at minimum be an exploration of treatments for the ongoing condition. I left the appointment feeling like I’d been spoken to like someone who didn’t understand anything when I actually have a deep understanding of my situation from a private and personal level. I hope things change back to the previous levels of service.
