I’ve had nothing but good experiences with this surgery, friendly reception staff and excellent care from the doctors. A breath of fresh air!

For years the actual surgery opening hours have been very restricted compared to most practices, the website says 9-530 or even 630pm The doors are closed for several hours in the middle of the day and the surgery is never open on Thursday afternoon. Please reflect your opening hours correctly. It is very frustrating to try and call just within the limited hours that we can actually call you. In practice I cannot call after 1pm as you have to listen to an automated message stating the surgery hours but then no option to speak with any member of the admin team. Have to call after 430pm. Please move into the contemporary era. I cannot access you easily during the day, as I am also working and sometimes can only call during my lunch break.

Dear Patient, Thank you for your feedback and I do apologise for the delay in responding. I am the Practice Manager at this Surgery, we are very sorry to hear that you are unhappy with access to our Practice. Please note that our opening times are from 08.00 a.m. to 6.30 pm Monday to Friday (which is on our website). If either on any occasion the front door is closed, there is a reason, which is the floor, is being cleaned or there is only two staff on duty whom we have to protect at all times, due to safety concerns. Furthermore, we encourage all our patients to have online access, which allows them to book their appointments, request medication etc. as well, as if it is non- urgent you could pre-book a telephone call, which we have introduced recently. Concerning Thursday evening clinic, it is only two administrative staff, who are on duty and are able to assist you with booking appointments, collection of letters, blood forms etc. or any medication enquiries. If you call is urgent you could also call us on our bypass line, which is 02085438715. We do hope that with all the information given you will be able to contact us at any time. There's so much in the news about GPs refusing to see patients, but at Riverhouse, I've experienced the total opposite. When I've been ill, I've been able to book appointments at short notice and whenever there's an issue with my baby's health, the surgery has always encouraged me to bring him in that day. I'm hugely grateful to the GPs working there and hope they know they're appreciated by the community.

The staff at River house surgery are the reason I support more funding and rights for local GP practices. I have been with them for 12 years and they have supported and comforted me through multiple chronic physical and emotional conditions despite all the cuts, target and bureaucratical pressures placed upon them. I do not think I could they will ever know how grateful I am to them for not giving up on me. How they do this for 4999 other people astounds me.

This is such a lovely practice to be with. Whenever I have been unwell I have had no issues getting an appointment the same day. Last week I rang reception at 4.30pm and was offered a face2face appointment at 5.10pm the same day! How fantastic was that! The GP I saw was very kind and professional who made me feel at ease. I was able to open up to him and he listened carefully without me feeling rushed in the consultation. I would highly recommend this friendly practice as all staff working here in my experience are highly competent in their roles. I always feel that I am in safe hands. I wouldn't want to go anywhere else.
