  1. Review titled Terrible Practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

Been on the phone trying to contact the GP about an appointment I’ve been trying to book for a week now. Every time i call they say they're closed or not taking appointments anymore. I decided to call extra early today to make sure id have a spot and this time they weren't even picking up the phone, just hanging straight up. Not difficult for a receptionist to do their job. This is not the first time I’ve had this problem either. Many a time over the last few years has this practice proven to be unreliable and its bout time I move somewhere else. Waste of my time

We are sorry that you have had problems accessing appointment at the surgery. Our reception staff answer over 150 calls per day, responding to broad range of requests including booking appointments. The staff would not intentionally terminate calls as we know that when lines are busy patients can be on hold for a longer period than usual, which can be frustrating. Our team are working hard to try and ensure that all patients queries are answered in a timely way. We are sorry that you have made the decision to change surgeries but wish you well with your future care. Bret Stevenson, Practice Manager

  2. Review titled Terrible practice

The receptionist tried to get me to wait months to get my medication to treat my chronic health issues. Then when I finally got an appointment the doctor had me in there for 1 or 2 minutes before having me leave still without any of medication.

  3. Review titled not good enough

Rated 1 star out of 5

I am sick and tired of being brushed off by doctors who are seemingly clueless about how to do their jobs. First, in 2021, it was me having to beg them to put me on antidepressants as they didn’t pay attention and told me to try online resources!! Secondly, I believe I have endometriosis, i’m in agony constantly and so I go to the doctors, they swab me so that they can refer me to a clinic that specialises in this. I find out months after this, that they never actually referred me and so i’ve been waiting around in agony for months and nothing has been done. Most recently, I went to a doctor as I am suffering from bad heart palpitations, had them my whole life but gotten worse, I was told it was probably just my anxiety and that I should just distract myself! And when I queried about a lump that I had found on my breast I was informed that she couldn’t do anything about it and that i’d have to book another appointment. When trying to book an appointment at reception they for some reason couldn’t book me in and told me I should just call the next day at 8am, which I can never do as I have work. I feel very let down by this GP surgery and I wouldn’t really recommend it to anyone.

We are very sorry that you have had a number of poor experiences at the surgery over the last few years, and that the outcomes of the appointments have not been up to your expectations. As there have been a few issues, we would ideally like to learn more about these so we can feed these back to the team, investigate them further, and make improvements to the service where we can. If you would like to contact the surgery about this then please make use of the feedback or complaint tool found on our website. We look forward to hearing from you.

  4. Review titled Extremely unfriendly and unhelpful reception staff

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 07 March 2023

There is an average wait of 30-50 minutes to get through to reception staff no matter when one tries to call. Once through, many reception staff (might always be the same person on different days) are harsh and unhelpful, just trying to turn you away. Often the notes that reception have taken were incomplete, resulting in me being referred to the wrong nurse - wasting everyone's time

We are very sorry that you have not been happy with the service that has been provided to you from the surgery. It is very disappointing to hear your negative experiences. You do mention particular reference to having to wait hours for an appointment. We would be happy to investigate this for you; it can occur that clinics run late due to the nature of what patients are attending for, although delays of any significant amount of time are rare. Likewise our standard GP appointment length is between 10-15 min although we do offer options, when appropriate of booking double appointments for patients with complex needs or with multiple health issues. 6. Review titled Struggling surgery

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Laura Alderson - Posted on 06 January 2023

Sadly after 31 years I have left this surgery. There used to be a team of doctors there and now that is much depleted. I have waited 45 minutes, and never less than 20 for the phone to be answered. I have waited for booked in phone calls from a nurse which haven't happened. I have sent in e consults which have not been answered. I have been waiting 8 weeks for issues to be dealt with. I was getting very anxious and stressed and realised the best thing was to leave. I hope things improve as they were a lovely practice.

We are sorry to learn that you have made the decision to move practices. There has been and continues to be significant pressure on NHS services, and our practice is no different. Our reception team have certainly felt the pressure of the demand on our telephone systems, and this demand has been the cause of delays in getting the phones answered in a timely manner. We are sorry that you have been unhappy with this and other aspects of the service that we provide. We hope that you are able find an alternative surgery that is able to meet your expectations. Thank you for contacting us as we do like to review patient feedback which helps us to develop and improve our services.

  7. Review titled Poor service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 15 December 2023

Most receptionists, and a practice nurse, are rude and hostile. The receptionists hardly ever answer the phone. It is hard to get past the practice nurses, in order to speak to a doctor on the phone. Most doctors are abrupt and unhelpful. It is always difficult to get doctors to understand my condition, even though I have been on their books for years. I am seriously considering changing practices, my hesitancy being down to fear that a new practice might be even worse.

We are very sorry that you have had a poor experience at the surgery. It does seem like there have been a number of issues; ideally we would like the chance to look in to these with you as it is important for us to identify where patients feel the service has not been up to standard that they expect. If you would like to contact the surgery directly we would be happy to pick this up. Bret Stevenson, Business Manager, Park Crescent Health Centre

  8. Review titled Great practice if you can get an appt.

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 23 September 2022

Never able to get through the phone line or have any contact with people who can help me (i.e. admin team, consistent doctor etc.) When I do get through, the staff are very wind rfully pleasant and I can tell earnestly wish to help, but there is a distinct lack of resources, access, and funding for this surgery. I've been waiting to have an issue resolved for 7 weeks now and am no closer to solving it than I was 4 weeks ago due to the phone lines never being accessible when I ring and administrative errors. Please read this sincerely, I don't wish anyone to think they aren't doing their job. Everyone is workin so hard there, I just wish they had more support.
