  1. Review titled The best surgery in the area

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Alex - Posted on 02 May 2024

I am currently in the first trimester of my first pregnancy, and called in after having a scare and I received a phone call back from the doctor within the hour who was very reassuring and set me up for a referral at the early screening unit. There is always someone available to answer the phone in a friendly manner, who do not probe or make you feel uncomfortable for calling, I have always managed to get a phone consultation or in-person appointment within a week depending on how serious the matter is. All the staff are upbeat, helpful and you get a genuine feeling that they enjoy doing what they do.

I found the reception staff very welcoming and efficient. The doctor took time to listen to me and dealt with my problem in a timely fashion. I am so pleased to be a member of Orchard End Surgery :)

  3. Review titled Errors made by surgery receptionists

Rated 4 stars out of 5

Normally a great practice, but some mistakes have been made recently. Dec 2023, we dropped off our repeat prescriptions before Xmas, as we were going away, and said we'd collect them early Jan 2024. Went to collect, but not only were the meds not ready, but the surgery had lost our scrips, and had no record of us dropping them off. This meant we were short of our regular meds, plus another journey to collect them. There was also a delay in receiving my husbands humulin injections, which could have had serious consequencies. When I collected my repeat meds in Feb 2024, I found when I got home there were only 28 Apixaban in the packet, when there should have been 56. Had to ring up, and collect the remainder. Finally, my husband rang and made an appt for today Feb 14th 10am, for diabetic blood test. He arrived at surgery, only to be told they had no record of his appt. This meant making another appt, and another wasted journey. We have no criticism of the Drs, they are all excellent, but something is definitely amiss with the receptionists, and how they record appts.
