Can’t get an appointment and nothing resolved within the timescale they provide. The appointment system doesn’t work!

  2. Review titled Disappointing

Rated 3 stars out of 5

After seeing an ENT consultant a letter was sent to this surgery asking them to prescribe 3 months of a medication. I received one prescription for the prescribed medication. This lasted less than one month and as I could not order online I rang the surgery on Tuesday 12th March and was told they couldn’t order this for me I needed to send an e-mail request which could take up to 5 working days ( even though they had a letter from my consultant) I e-mailed and waited until Tuesday 19th and checked with the pharmacy but no prescription. So I rang again and eventually spoke to the same person I had dealt with the previous week. she said she would speak to the doctor as it hadn’t been signed and should have been. I then had a phone call later where she told me that it wasn’t ‘late’ and the doctor should sign it today and it should be with pharmacy tomorrow … if not to ring them again .. I have had no medication for a week as I believed the authorisation from the consultant requesting the repeat prescription for 3 months would have been accepted. I feel this is a very poor service. Very disappointing

  3. Review titled Frustrated

Rated 2 stars out of 5

The repeat prescription timescale has now changed to 5 working days, it can then take 2 working days for the pharmacy to prepare it. On putting my families requests in, I take these timescales into consideration and 90% of the time our prescription requests are rejected as too early. We are therefore without our medication for a couple of days each month. I have raised this with the reception team multiple times but it keeps happening. The new timescales aren’t a problem, but please be aware that people will be putting their requests in slightly earlier and rejecting them is causing problems. It seems that when they are processed the new timescale isn’t take into account.

Insanely long wait times for appointments. Then if you’re 15 mins late they cancel it but if your on time you have to wait 40 minutes because they are behind.

  5. Review titled Empathetic Staff who always try to help

Rated 4 stars out of 5

The GP I spoke too was very empathetic to the way I was feeling and whilst they did not have a magic wand, they listened and gave me pragmatic solutions to try. Also in speaking with other members of staff trying to arrange things my compliment goes to the secretaries who could not do enough to help me achieve referrals and transport if required. Many thanks to you all

  6. Review titled Not happy with Digital Services

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 12 June 2023

Odiham Health Center's digital services aren't great by any means. They outsouce appointment to a system called econsult, which is rarely functioning and often stops you from trying to arrange an appointment right then and there. Online forms of contact are almost non-existant bar emailing the reception (no online-fillable forms). Their pricing regarding non-nhs letters (such as fit notes, Dla letters, Student Disability Evidence) is outragious. To apply for both Student Disability component of the student loan and fill in a University's Disability form would cost an estimated £110 from their price list for a combination of 2 letters, which will not be usable within a year. Replacements are £10 each at the time of writing. That's insane, especially considering that (without this) you're out of luck regarding either of these things. My experience in the actual clinic felt rushed and monetised. I went in with a back issue and was recommended physio, however they tried to get me to go through physio privately. Needless to say I'm not happy with the cost of service that is supposed to be covered by the Nhs.

  7. Review titled Dreadful Experience

Rated 2 stars out of 5

My granddaughter was unwell with an earache and the receptionist was beyond rude and unhelpful. I asked to speak to the manager as I wasn’t getting anywhere near a resolution. She was even more of a road block and had an utterly disgusting attitude. It is not surprising the staff are like they are with an example like that. We will be looking to move surgeries where we hope to be met with more understanding and compassion. The experience was upsetting.

The teams all work so hard to give the best care to patients possible. The surgery is always clean and well maintained. We are very lucky to have our GP surgery.

  9. Review titled Worst receptionist ever

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Karen Garton - Posted on 06 September 2022

Receptionists are always rude, helpful, disorganised and incompetent. I had 2 lots of prescriptions lost, was then told one of the prescriptions was at the chemist, went to the chemist and it wasn't there. Went back to the doctor's who told me to get the chemist to phone them as they would no longer issue any more prescriptions, they didn't even try looking for the other one and that was it she just glared at me until I moved away. The chemist looked at me as if I was crazy but finally did call the doctors and managed after half an hour to sort the problem out. I finally got my prescription, if it wasn't for the chemist I'd still be pulling my hair out after 2 weeks of trying to get hold of my original prescription. The chemist informed me that the one and only prescription sent were sent today just after I went back down to the doctors to complain that I couldn't get my prescription so they hadn't sent it in the 1st place. As a disabled widow on pensions who has to rely on her car this has cost me a fortune in petrol, time, energy and pain. Where is the doctor could have given me a written prescription as I had a face-to-face doctors appointment anyway today on the 5th of sept. But as they had already lost my written prescription that someone had printed off for me on Friday but I physically and financially could not afford to go back to the doctor's yet again to pick it up, it had to wait until Monday when I was going to the doctor's anyway so when I went to the reception desk they said that they couldn't find it so that was the 3rd prescription that they had actually lost. This has never happened to this degree but it does actually happen on almost a buy monthly basis, that they will either lose prescriptions, forget to issue prescriptions and they won't let me go back to a paperbase prescription that I can keep an eye on. They're saying that they just don't do that anymore but they definitely should cause it worked fine for me before.

    Review titled Odiham Health Centre

Dear Ms Garton, Thank you for taking the time to raise your concerns. I am sorry that this has been your experience of our surgery. Odiham & Old Basing Health Centre take complaints and concerns very seriously and I would like to investigate the matters you have raised fully. I will respond to you personally as it would be inappropriate for me to discuss this on a public forum.
