The so-called "consultant" pharmacist I spoke to evidently had an agenda, was ignorant and overall absolutely terrible (and a waste of credit and verbiage) but individual GPs tend to be okay. Some better and more experienced (or at least knowledgeable) than others. They tend to do as well as the system permits them to.

After being with this surgery for 30 years I have decided to leave and change practice. I understand the pressures during the pandemic but for the practice to still not have any bookable face to face GP appointments is not how I wish my surgery to work. You have to book a telephone consultation first which often is over 2 weeks away, and then if a face to face appt is needed another wait is incurred. Or alternatively you need to say it’s an urgent issue to speak to a doctor and I was reprimanded once for doing this as it wasn’t deemed urgent. So sadly after many years of excellent GP care I am moving to a surgery who offers bookable face to face appointments and also on the day appointments if you call in the morning.
