A big thank you to the surgery team (Booking receptionist, Manager & Doctor) for their professional, prompt and reassuring phone call/advice when it was needed.

  2. Review titled Not as good as it can be

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Certain GPs are constantly running behind & nit just 5/10 minutes often 20-30 mins. Some GP's are often unfriendly, rude & fob you off without doing asking any relevant questions then prescribe anti bionics telling you to come back in a week if no better any worse. I checked in for my sons appointment today, 20.mins after appointment I went to check that the machine had booked us in. Whilst waiting foe the receptionist to finish on the call my husband forwarded me a text he'd received stating 'appointment cancelled due to us being a nos show'. Managed to get in to see GP but was rushed in/put without any close inspection of the area for concern. GP was quite abrupt like we were being a inconvenience. Awful experience & no confidence in the treatment received so will be going for a second opinion.

  3. Review titled Can’t get appointments

Rated 1 star out of 5

Online booking opens at 8:30. Despite being online at that time, there were no appointments by 8:31. You try to ring and after half an hr get an automated message saying no appointments. I don’t have understand why they can’t allow “future bookings”, not everything is urgent as has to be booked for the same day.

  4. Review titled unable to make appt

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Ann Brown - Posted on 27 July 2023

unable to make an appt on line or by phone, spoke to helpful receptionist who suggested I could visit to newly opened Urgent Minor illnesses Unit at Solihull Hospital. Thought this a fantastic service, examined by Doctor who said I need a referral to ENT Fast Pathway service to be seen within 2 weeks, and he wrote to GP the same day as he could not do the referral himself, only via GP. Called into surgery to check they had received letter. only to be told I need to make a GP appt. What is the point?? I could be dead by then.

  5. Review titled Dreadful Availability

Rated 1 star out of 5

This practice opens its diary at 8:30 on a weekday for appointments taken for that day only. No one answers the phone, you go into a queue and are later told there are no appointments available. You are also told you can book an appointment online but I have unable to see how this can be done. This practice is effectively closed to its patients and should be declared non-compliant and reopened under new management.

Impossible to get a doctors appointment, but you can get a flu jab anytime. Phone at 08:30( when the lines open) and get answered 45minutes later to be told no appointments.

  7. Review titled Excellent service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I have recently joined the practice and have been impressed with the excellent patient care shown. I needed to book a fasting blood test rang the surgery and a delightful receptionist called back, the test was booked and carried out by a very professional, welcoming phlebotomist within a week of contacting the surgery. I am so pleased to be a patient at this practice.

  9. Review titled Great practice

I rang on Tuesday and got a same day appointment to see a doctor. She arranged blood tests and ECG on Thursday with a practice nurse, and requested a chest X-ray. Wednesday I had a call from the hospital for an X-ray on Sunday. I had a text Friday morning re my blood test results! I have been with this practice for nearly 60 years and all the doctors, pharmacists and other staff have been very helpful and get things done in a timely fashion.

  10. Review titled good practice, but unhelpful receptionist

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 14 October 2022

I rang to ask when I might be having my Covid/flu jabs as other much younger people were having theirs and I had heard nothing. I had previously been told I could have mine in October. After half an hour's wait on the phone line I was told the surgery had no Covid vaccines available and did not know when they might have any. They told me if I wanted one I would have to go into Birmingham, even though I live in Solihull. ( I think my chances of catching Covid would be greatly increased by having to get on a bus and travel miles into Birmingham!) The earliest date I could have my flu jab was two weeks away, while the cases of flu are rapidly increasing. The receptionist's attitude seemed uncaring to me. In desperation I went into another local surgery to ask if they had any vaccinations available. Their receptionist, on the other hand, couldn't have been more helpful and pleasant. They were amazed that I had been told to go to Birmingham. Although they could not offer me a vaccination, they suggested I could get one the next day at Solihull's Mell Square walk-in centre. The receptionist even rang them on my behalf to check the times! So I will have both jabs together, and have only one day to wait. Why couldn't Northbrook's receptionist simply have told me that? I could have been spared hours of stress and misery. If they didn't know about it, they should have. A very unimpressive way of dealing with elderly patients. As a result, I shall be changing to a new practice. Perhaps some further training is required in this department as I have often found certain receptionists bossy and unhelpful, although others have been good. But this was the last straw, and I feel trust has been lost.
