  1. Review titled Poor reception service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 04 April 2024

I was told by the doctor to collect stool samples for tests. I went to the medical practice, the reception only gave me one bottle to collect the sample. A few days later, when I visited the doctor, he told me there were two more bottles. Hence, I asked the reception for the other two bottles. After collecting the samples, I sent them to the medical practice. However, after more than one week, the reception called me saying that I collected urine rather than stool, and there is one more that I should give them. How come? I am more than 100% sure that I collected stool, not urine. Obviously, they made a mistake. The reception was not doing their work, they should have given me all three bottles for the first time, and should not mixed my samples with others'. It has wasted me many hours to come and go, and now I have to go again to take the bottle for sample and go to send to them again after collection. What's worse, when I asked "can you please check whether this is the last one", she simply said she cannot and said it's up to me to collect or not. What an experience and service!

  2. Review titled Receptionist

    by Abbey25 - Posted on 01 May 2023

Received a call from the surgery in the afternoon. My wife tried to answer the call but as she is disabled by the time she reached to pick up the call, the phone stopped ringing, I immediately rang the surgery straight back. I requested to speak to the person who had contacted me yesterday. I was told by the receptionist that no one had been in touch. My wife had spoken to that person and explained that I was not available and will be able to speak to them again tomorrow. The receptionist said that there were no notes and no calls recorded. They wouldn’t let me speak to the manager or the Asthma nurse who had made the call. I have had similar incidents before. Doctors and Nurses are excellent. Unfortunately in my experience receptionists give organisations a bad name. I hope something gets done about this issue. If this continues, people will loose patience who bring income to the practice. I believe this is a training issue.

Thank you for your recent feedback. I see it has been posted with a username I cannot identify or a date of when this happened. There are no details for us to investigate the incident you report. Unfortunately, the asthma nurse is not available to take calls in clinic time and has a supportive admin team that can manage her appointments. Please ring Ashley the office Manager as she has never refused to take a call, and returns calls if she is not available, my suggestion would be to do this.

Sometimes difficult to get through on the phone and to park, but both the current reception team and the clinical team are the best I've dealt with in the 6+ GP surgeries I've been registered with over the years.

  5. Review titled Great extra clinic

Rated 5 stars out of 5

The surgery provided a weekend clinic for cervical smears. This is something that many women choose to ignore but the weekend Clinic means that it is an accessible service for all. The nurse was lovely, efficient and understanding. She also explained everything extremely well. Thank you

This is a fantastic review. We have been giving up our own time to run these clinics, and words like this make it worthwhile. You are right, that a huge number of women ignore our communications to book an appointment. Your review may inspire someone to book in ! thank you

  6. Review titled You should live with severe pain No problem!!!

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Taha Marashda - Posted on 17 February 2023

I had a severe lower back pain till my foot, affected my mobility badly (going to toilet or putting clothes on....etc was a nightmare) . Phoned the surgery early morning at 8:40 am to get an emergency phone call with gp but been told sorry you called late and no available appointment, so they transfered me to have an appointment with gp through Livi application where gps have video call with patients. I did have that video call on 16th Feb. 2023 and the doctor said that I need a cerian pain killer to reduce the pain so I can move and do exercise but the doctor said she was unable to prescribe that pain killer due to its category as a controlled drugs, so she sent a message to my registered gp explaining the situation. And she advised me to contact my registered gp after sending them the message. I did contact the surgery on 16th Feb. 2023, they offered me an appointment on 29th March 2023 which was so ridiculous offer, then the lady asked me to call back the second day which was 17th Feb 23 at 1pm. I did call the surgery on 17th on time to be offered again another appointment at 21st Feb 23. So the option in the view of the surgery was no problem ti wait 4 days in your severe pain!!!! My comment is, why I was transferred to a gp who assessed my medical issue and decided that I need a certain pain killer then when I come back to the surgery they did not recognise her medical assessment so asked to wait in my severe pain till I get phone call appointment with my registered gp? Livi application gp is to reduce the pressure on the surgeries but unfortunately bad management made it useless in my case. I had to seek private medical service which was assessed exactly as the Livi gp assessment with the same medication. Note: gp on Livi is the same as gp in my registered gp. Mismanagement of my case put me on 2 options only....waiting in severe pain or borrow money to seek private help.....

  7. Review titled Great Practice - Some issues

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 08 November 2022

Today I called to book an appointment and was put on-hold for an hour. This is not just one instance. Has been happening a lot recently. Used to be very prompt but something is seriously wrong. Needs investigation.

Hi - we will certainly investigate this for you. Please contact the surgery with the date, time and number connected to the instance. All calls to he surgery are tracked and recorded. We have just had a new telephone provider installed and can now offer a call back service so that patients don't have to remain in the line - this will improve patient experience. Thankyou for your feedback

Nurse was fast in administering the flu jab. Polite and patient as well. The receptionist was also polite which makes a change from some of the rude ones.

  9. Review titled Excellent service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Mulikat Aare-Latosa - Posted on 08 October 2022

Went in for my flu jab, it was a warm welcome, advised to wait and take off my jacket in prep for my vaccination. Called in by a very friendly staff, who introduced herself and what she is about to do, she asked for my allergy, injected me gentle and after care was good, assisted me to put my jacket back on and wished me well on my way out. I was relaxed and felt supported throughout.
