I phoned at 830 and was phoned back at 9 and told I am on the list for a same day consultation. At 1745 nobody has phoned me back and when I phoned the practice again they had no record of my earlier call. Not great patient care and very hard to get an appointment with the flawed booking system as there is no reference and you can be dropped from the list without consultation.

Any time I've contacted the Nelson, including this morning, I've been called back same day by a GP, given a face-to-face appointment if necessary, treated with respect and given any appropriate tests. I'm really grateful I'm registered with this practice.

I do not think that I am alone in saying that, holding the line for one hour, waiting for someone to answer the call, when you need to speak to someone urgently, is absolutely unacceptable and highly frustrating. This has been going on forever and a day. Why can't the practice sort their telephone/answering system sorted out once and for all? We are talking people's health here, people in need of medical attention. vn

Have been with this practice for many years and have always found the care to be excellent. The doctors are professional, kind and caring, as are the support staff. I feel very fortunate to belong to this practice !

have been with Nelson medical practice for nearly 10 years and always had great experience, drs are very professional and am always able to get appointment. But this time I want to appreciate reception staff. I called on 28th Feb for routine appointment and was told I will get message later today for my appointment, which I got that my appointment is on 18th March. I called back later on same day to request to change it as this date doesn’t suit me, the lady recpeptionst was so nice, friendly and she offered me other appointment and then suggested that there are late appointments available as being a GP myself it’s not possible for me to attend appointment before 6pm. Luckily there was a cancellation on same day and I managed to see dr on same day at 7pm. I was impressed with the receptionist, she was very helpful, it’s sad that I don’t know her name.

The lady that changed my dressing was fab. She was patient, kind, knew was she was doing and really out me at ease. I can’t for the life of me remember her name, but I’m thankful that she was the one to assist me as it’s really helped unblock my post op fears.

From the moment phone answered you feel the practice coordinators listen and offer the appropriate appointment. I was able to get an appointment set up on a Friday afternoon after returning from holiday for a severe ear infection. Dr on call booked me in herself for review the following week, ensuring continuity of care plus listened and sorted out other long term issues. Thank you to the whole Practice for their hard work and professionalism when the pressures these past 2 years are immense and ever growing.

Centre closed 1/2 day for staff training - could it not have been phased, departments/zones? Over 40th in queue (maybe higher as above 30 they don’t say - 45mins Once granted appointment- great care! Why are new patients being continually registered when they cannot adequately service those on the roll? Maybe reintroduce the Senior Nursing team who deal with less important issues and can prescribe some medications
