  1. Review titled No doctors

Rated 1 star out of 5

It is now actually- and not virtually - impossible to see a doctor at this practice. And indeed there is a message saying so on the screen in the waiting room. ‘Unless it is an actual medical emergency’. It tells us that the one doctor at the practice now only consults with practitioners who will see and speak to the patients. We have 1 doctor in name - though if it is not possible to have a consultation with him- in effect we have none. There is a fabulous Nurse Practitioner who works above and beyond but is inundated and there are other less qualified practitioners. But these are not doctors. And we are being done a major disservice. We can’t even choose to change our practice to Birchwood in North Walsham which I believe has 5 consulting doctors to our 1 non consulting doctor, as most of us in the village only fall within the catchment of this practice. Therefore management has no incentive to fill the vacancies left by the doctors and practitioners who have left. This seriously needs to be addressed. And is it right that the practice manager is also a partner in the practice?

  2. Review titled The NHS at its best

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Barbara Worsley - Posted on 04 November 2023

Your review: Over the last few months I have , for various reasons needed to contact our medical centre. I have to say that from the moment they answers the phone right through to the final resolution I have been treated with the upmost patience and respect, and I think it’s worth noting that they are managing to do this at a time when the NHS is struggling. Like many , initially I was a little concerned when I realised that the centre was introducing new methods of diagnosis and treatment based on telephone calls, zoom consultations as well as the introduction of specialist practitioners. Having experienced all these new approaches and based on my personal experiences I have been more than satisfied with the outcomes. When I have needed to see a practitioner this has been arranged in a timely and efficient manner with the minimum of resistance or reluctance. I just wanted to say a huge thank you to the entire team at the medical centre for the great job that they do.

  4. Review titled Great practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I attended an emergency appointment with my 3 year old daughter this morning and the student doctor was so caring with my non verbal daughter he made her feel safe and spoke to her with such kindness. This made such a difference while she was feeling poorly where previous visits have caused distress to her. The stickers were very much appreciated by her too.

  5. Review titled Excellent service again

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by MLG - Posted on 16 February 2023

Having used over counter medicines for sore throat and nose for almost a week I contacted the surgery as the pain had spread to my sinuses and was becoming unbearable. I was offered a “same day face to face” appointment with a senior nurse and was prescribed antibiotics and nasal spray along with lots of advice regarding sinusitis and current research on effective remedies. The following morning my condition had changed significantly and I suspected that I had ophthalmic shingles. I emailed the surgery around 7am and by 8.30am I received a call offering me a telephone appointment with the GP at 10. The appointment took place with the GP and he escalated it to a face to face appointment at 11. GP confirmed ophthalmic shingles and had a discussion with on call ophthalmologist at NNUH to confirm treatment and whether or not there was an immediate need for eye casualty. I was provided with antiviral medication and eye gel due to the position of the shingles on my eye. In addition a contact number for NNUH with specific information as to when/if I should contact eye casualty for an appointment. As always the Mundesley Medical Centre Team were excellent in dealing with my requests from administration team through nurses and GP. Again, in spite of being busy on day appointments were found and escalated from telephone to face to face when appropriate. Thank you to all at the medical centre, you’ve looked after the family so well.

  7. Review titled What's gone wrong?

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Jonathan Sell - Posted on 14 June 2022

This GP practice used to be excellent but it is now virtually unfit for purpose. There used to be five doctors but now there are only two and they only work part time. It has become virtually impossible to see an actual doctor and patients are seen by staff who are simply not qualified to deal with serious health issues. Something is seriously wrong, and I suspect it is to do with saving money.
