  1. Review titled Incompetent practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Csaba Ervin Toth - Posted on 28 December 2023

My wife had an ultrasound scan and the results came back on 22nd December, Friday. The receptionist said she can't tell us anything but the note said to book an appointment through the econsult asap. We did. Needless to say it spoilt our Christmas having had to worry about what the findings were. Them out of blue econsult sent the results back without any additional notes. I called in again and the receptionist said the GP might have changed his mind and I should ask for an appointment to discuss it. When I said I dhad asked for an appointment in the previous econsult she said I should have done it again. Whe. I asked her how many times I should have asked for the same thing she didn't answer but she treated me like a dummy. In a system where the GPs act like the lord of life and death and you cannot see a specialist without their referral this way of treating patients is highly disgraceful and disrespectful.

  2. Review titled How can this work?

Rated 1 star out of 5

You used to have to call at 8am to book a same day appointment...rarely did you get to speak to someone till about 8.45 but eventually you could certainly get a phone appointment booked, and if you were very lucky, an actual face to face one. But now it seems that you can't call at 8am...you have to actually go there in person and queue to make an appointment for the same day. I thought one made appointments when one was ill....so why is it ever a good idea to get a whole load of sick patients all together in a queue?! Plus if you're ill, you sometimes can't physically go and stand in a long queue! I don't get it.

  3. Review titled Prescription Shambles

Rated 1 star out of 5

For the 3rd month in a row my elderly father's blood pressure prescription has not been processed, despite repeated telephone and in-person requests. He now has no medication. The surgery has nose-dived in terms of its patient care in recent years. I am aware of several other patients in Yatton who have had tremendous trouble getting prescriptions renewed. It is a shambles. Perhaps the doctors running this practice need to review their prescription processes and ensure they work, and give more consideration to older patients who are not online and do not use apps.

  4. Review titled Had to go to Pudding pie lane.

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Andy from Worle - Posted on 07 June 2022

I phoned to get an appointment with St George's part of Mendip Vale Practice. I ended up having to travel 8 miles to Pudding Pie Lane. The appointment was on time and the GP really listened to my concerns. He wrote to a consultant at Southmead to get some clarity to put my mind at rest and prescribed for the second issue a chest infection. Really kind and made me feel valued.
