  1. Review titled Wonderful Doctor

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Janice Micallef - Posted on 11 April 2024

After being advised last week by a receptionist to come into the surgery 10th April just before 2pm to be assured of a face to face. Again, this was wrong information. The reception staff are inconsistent with relaying information. Communication is poor. Administration is appalling. They never apologise or show any empathy to patients. The screen with small microphone makes it hard to hear and understand clearly....especially for elderly patients and patients with limited English. After filing a complaint, on leaving the surgery a doctor I would love to name, asked us what the issue was. He knew my family by their date of birth and name! He agreed to see my mother that day. He has a marvellous, caring and detailed approach with his patient. Clear and concise, unlike other doctors there who are dismissive and non engaging with the patient, no eye contact. I do wish he would shake that surgery up and be supported by a good team. I felt for one elderly lady who had concerns with her leg that needed a face to face app, who kept being palmed off with a phone call. She was told by reception to photo the issue and upload to a link. Poor thing, has no smart phone or the skills to do this. No empathy for this woman or care of her situation and assistance to help her. I'm leaving a high star for the doctor, but by no means is this for the staff practice

Dear Miss Micallef Thank you for your feedback which is very important to us. I will ask my colleague Marianne to call you to obtain a little more info to help us investigate this further. I am pleased the GP was able to help you and your mother. I will also look into the issues for some patients sending photos and having telephone consultations. Thank you again for sharing your experience. Sarah Kavanagh, Practice Business Manager

  2. Review titled Poor Appointment Service

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 18 March 2024

Yet again, I have tried to book an appt and after trying to call early in the morning I have been unsuccessful and have been told to try online at 7.30am in the morning. At that time I will be driving on my way to work and therefore unable to book online. I asked if there was anyway I could speak to a doctor or if they could recommend something for me to take for my ailment which doesn't warrant a hospital visit, although I am in pain - only to be told no. After a persistent telephone conversation with the receptionist said she would call me back. I have now been called back for a 4pm cancellation appt, which again is impossible as that only leaves me with half an hour to get to the surgery when I am currently at work. During my conversation with the receptionist telling her I might not get there on time, I was then told the appointment had now gone as they offer the appointment to more than one person on a first come first served basis!! I have been with this surgery for 25 years and never have I experienced such a dire appointment service. I have stayed with the same surgery for all these years as their service and the doctors were excellent, but now the booking service is very poor. I can't comment on the doctors as I haven't had the same one on the visits I have made since it was taken over and on three occasions over the past few months I've tried to book an appointment and been unsuccessful. I work in a school and cannot work from home so really do need advance warning if an appointment is offered - at least to be told in the morning I can have an afternoon appointment. I have colleagues who are able to get appointments for the next day with their surgeries, but alas mine doesn't offer this service and it really does upset me to have to make a decision to leave my family doctors after all this time. So sad.....

  6. Review titled Extremely Disappointed with lack of service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by kenov - Posted on 07 November 2023

I have been with Manor Practise for a number of years. However in the past couple of years is has gone downhill considerably. It is near impossible to get an appointment. I have a child with mental health issues, I have been on hold for nearly 40 minutes only to be told to call back tomorrow all the appointments are full. They don't even have emergency appointment available. How are you supposed to be referred if you can't even get an appointment with a doctor. Very poor service.

  7. Review titled Great service

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Claire Jeffs - Posted on 16 November 2023

I brought my 23 month old daughter in twice over the last 2 days with no appointment, and technically as a walk-in, and she was seen really quickly. My daughter appears to be suffering from a bag allergic reaction and we needed the reassurance on this and how to help her. Th gp also went a step further to speak with a paediatric doctor at the hospital to ensure she was prescribing the best medication for my daughter. I feel like they all really cared for my daughters wellbeing which meant a lot. The receptionist were also really nice and helpful, and also have my daughter a couple of pens and paper to play with whilst we waited. Overall, I feel assured that my children have a gp practice to go to where their well-being is important and me as a mother taken seriously.

  8. Review titled Super speedy response

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Fiona Smith - Posted on 29 December 2022

Suspecting I might have a UTI, I called at the surgery to see if a doctor could contact me. The receptionist, with considerable presence of mind, asked me to provide a sample while I was there so that the doctor could check it before calling. Within half an hour I was called and informed that an infection had been detected and a prescription despatched immediately to the pharmacy for collection later the same day. This response was faultless in every respect. The doctor who called was fully aware of my medical history and asked plenty of questions about my symptoms. This is in fact typical of our experience with this practice over almost 30 years.
