Review titled Greatly improved practice now
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Chris Woodhams - Posted on 20 October 2023
From speaking with friends and neighbours, we have the best experienced care and service than any other surgeries we're aware of. Usually able to talk to a doctor on the day of requesting. Had COVID booster and flu jabs efficiently arranged for both my wife and I last Saturday morning. The reception staff and telephone system now work in a much more customer friendly way - eg. more personable staff and no need to wait on the phone for an answer with the new call-back system. Well done to all in London Street Surgery.

It is not a surgery I will recommend in Reading. They never have appointment after consistently calling for appointment for kids with special needs and also calling aT 8am each day. consistently being told they only have 1 dr on duty. Not sure they know what they are doing

receptionist refused to give an appointment , refused to ask the doctor to call me and told me call the pharmacist instead , despite being told that i am disabled and unable to walk she refused point blank to listen or do anything and said i have to come down to the surgery . This is not the first time this has happened either with staff there

Review titled Incompetent admin staff
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Iga Piatek - Posted on 24 May 2022
I’ve been deregistered without me knowing, when asking for explanation I was told I am rude and was asked to leave. Admin lady told me she sent me letters and called me due to my overdue COVID vaccinations (I’ve got my 3 dozes already) and this is why they deleted me from their records. I come and email them every 6 months for my repeat prescription so don’t quite understand how did that get missed? Earlier this month they sent me a message saying my cervical screening test is due, then messaged me saying it’s a mistake a minute later. The place is a mess, admin staff is unhelpful and shockingly doesn’t care about patients well-being. It’s a great shame that people like this work for NHS. Doctors and nurses were always nice and supportive- so thank you!

Receptionists go the extra mile to help with queries/appointments repeat prescriptions etc. Phone calls from Doctors/practice nurse during pandemic were helpful and safer than going to the surgery as I was classed as vulnerable.
