Dear Carol Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. I am sorry that you had not been added to the waiting list for knee injections. I am not sure what happened with regards to the appointments bookings that appeared on your phone but weren't booked. If you want us to look into this further please either telephone the surgery on 0115 9325229 or email ddicb.littlewick.letters@nhs.net Kind regards Carly Widziernikow Practice Manager

  2. Review titled It beggars belief

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 03 March 2023

I spent 20 minutes waiting to get through on the phone, only to be told they weren't taking routine appointments and ring back next week! This was after I was advised earlier in the week to call today.

Dear patient Thank you for taking the time to write a review for the surgery. I am sorry that it was difficult to get through to the surgery. We have had clinician sickness absence which impacted on the availability of routine appointments. We appreciate this is frustrating and inconvenient for patients and I am genuinely sorry this was the case. Kind regards Carly Widziernikow Practice Manager

  3. Review titled Impossible to get an appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Jayne Lay - Posted on 09 February 2023

I rang the surgery to get an appointment to see the doctor about an ongoing condition because my medication was no longer working. I was told to try an over the counter medication and even though I know it wasn't that I did it and I was no better. I rang again today and after being on hold for 80 minutes I was told that the appointments were for emergency only, and I had to ring another day for an on the day appointment , even though I had been in a lot of discomfort for 2 weeks. How can I ring for an appointment when it takes so long to get through even when you ring at 8 am and then all the appointments have gone. It's a joke.

  4. Review titled Phone queue

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 20 March 2023

What a brilliant innovation to now give caller number in waiting queue when ringing the surgery. Instead of clinging onto my phone while awaiting a response, hoping I don't miss response, I can now put phone on speaker and do something else while waiting. A very simple but great idea. As ever...you all do a great job

  5. Review titled 1st Class

Rated 4 stars out of 5

    by Paul W - Posted on 12 January 2023

I was referred to this practice by my local practice today [12.01.2023] as they were unable to give me an appointment.this is due to an ongoing problem. The practice nurse called me very promptly and gave 1st Class advice and a course of treatment. I am very pleased with the service that I received from this Practice and just wanted to extend my thanks to the practice nurse. Many Thanks :-)

  6. Review titled Very helpful

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Sandie - Posted on 10 June 2022

I rang to make an appointment. I waited a while to get through, but that is understandable. The receptionist was very helpful and did everything possible to arrange an appointment for an on going problem. Thank you

Dear Sandie Thanks for taking the time to write us a review. Firstly I am sorry that it is taking some time to get through to us on the phone. We are in the process of training new receptionists which should help with the call waiting time. I will ensure that our reception team hear about your positive experience, it really boosts morale to hear our patients are happy. Kind regards Carly Widziernikow Practice Manager

  7. Review titled poor staffing levels and communication

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Stanley resident - Posted on 26 May 2022

required a medication review, stated by the prescription line. tried 3 times to phone, over 25 minutes each time, no contact. tried on line and the website takes you all over but unless you are computer literate and physically able can't ask for a consultation. reply to complaint basically says 'oh dear' no suggestion of how it will be improved. GPs are good, if you can ever get to see one. employ more telephone staff, use a call back system or get a new manager to sort it out please. no idea how the elderly, those with mental health problems or communication impairment are expected to get hold of their GP, perhaps they aren't?

Dear patient Thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback. We are aware that our phone lines are incredibly busy. We are investing in a telephone monitoring system that provides us with live call data so that we can better understand the busier periods and tailor our staffing accordingly. The time it takes to train a new receptionist is around 2-3 months. We are seeing an increase in the instances of verbal abuse to our reception team which has meant several have resigned in the past few months meaning we have to recruit new team members and train them for the time period detailed above. I am not aware that we have replied to a complaint with the response 'oh dear', so if this is the case I am happy to look into this further as it doesn't meet the standard of response I would be satisfied with. I agree that the waiting times to get through on the phones are not what we want either and we have taken steps to address this such as taking on new receptionists and utilising our other adminstrative staff at busy times to answer patient calls. We are constrained by NHS finances as to how many reception staff we are able to employ. We also have an active patient participation group that you may be interested in joining if you would like to be more involved in assisting the practice. If you would like more information about this you can email the surgery: littlewick.letters@nhs.net or you can visit the main reception desk to find out more. Our opening times are Monday to Friday 08.00am til 18.30pm. Kind regards Carly Widziernikow Practice Manager
