  1. Review titled Completely fobbed off an infant and rude

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 12 February 2024

I was calling all this morning to make an emergency appointment for both my 2 year old and myself. My 2 year old developed a mysterious rash over night and I was told to take him to a pharmacy. My experience with pharmacies usually end In being told to make a dr appointment. I myself have an ongoing ear infection that needs medication but I too was denied any form. I don’t mind myself but I feel there is a distinct lack of care from the care centre when it’s impossible to get an emergency appointment for a vulnerable child. Furthermore the receptionist was very rude and did not take into account possible mental health issues or disabilities or emotional states. She said to phone the next day when there was more staff and when I told her I already had prior uncancelable appointments hence why I was ringing today she said that I shouldn’t try to make an appointment if I’m not going to make it and proceeded to drill me that everyone had been ringing since 8 , that they only have 2 doctors in that day and refused to make any form of advance appointment or emergency appointment and after giving me a stern rude and very tactless lecture she promptly hung up as I started to cry.

  2. Review titled Untrained reception team are dangerous

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 29 January 2024

Seen by OOH GP at weekend, but was so unwell that I did not quite take on board medication instructions. Phoned surgery first thing on Monday morning to ask for clarity - specifically, if I should stop one, and take the other I had been prescribed, antibiotic or take both. Receptionist told me he 'supposed I should take both'. I asked if he could check this advice with a doctor, and he said no, because all their 'admin slots were full'. I am suffering with an acute infection, and this is totally ridiculous - how can a non medical receptionist dispense this advice, and not check it? Called a local pharmacy, who stated it would be dangerous to take both. Exceptionally disappointed and worried.

  3. Review titled Feling ignored

by Patient at Linden - Posted on 10 July 2023

I have been seeing a GP @ Linden Medical Centre, since Sept-22 due to skin condition and in April-23 due to what I believe was an incorrect diagnosis, my condition worsened where I could not go into work or leave the house. The medication prescribed made the skin condition worse, so I asked for a referral letter to get properly treated via private health. The GP provided a letter without any facts, without any medication they had prescribed, and filled with opinion which I feel would not assist the Consultant. I wrote a number of times to query this and to get a referral letter with facts and list of medication they had prescribed and the impact it had on my skin but to date they have refused saying I should do my own letter . We are now in July-23 and I am unable to get treated for my condition. I feel the GP and the General manager have been uncaring/unhelpful and simply do not understand the pain and agony I have had to go through along with purchasing all the medication since Sept-22 which has not worked or given me a bad reaction on my skin. I find the GP is very arrogant when attending appointments and had asked for the last 2 appointments for another GP but told this was not possible. When attending the appointments they seem uninterested and was always clock watching even though I was usually out within 5-10mins. To date no apology, no update when I will get a professional medical referral letter even though sending emails but they are being ignored.

  4. Review titled Best GP Practice I’ve used

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 18 May 2023

It was easy to get a same day appointment for my little one who was unwell. Reception staff were helpful, lots of parking and the surgery was clean and accessible. GP was thorough and offered advice for next steps.

  5. Review titled Often disconnected

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Kyra - Posted on 20 March 2023

I am often disconnected after waiting on the phone for more than 15 mins. This morning was the same case. I respect that it can be very busy especially on a Monday but to wait for 20 mins and then be hung up on and then call again and be 13th in the queue is frustrating. There needs to be a more efficient way of handling the calls to avoid this as that time period can often mean you do not get an appointment on the day due to the delay.

  6. Review titled Zero focus on babies health and assessment

Rated 2 stars out of 5

    by J H - Posted on 24 February 2023

Receptionists and getting seen hasn't been a problem, in fact when babies were concerned we got seen quickly within hours. I want to highlight the inability of some gps within the surgery to focus their attention on problems that babies have and stop treating them like adults. This resulted in me bringing my 8 month old child several times to the surgery, being made feel absolutely stupid even to the point when Gp shown me on Google the assessment they follow which he said resulted in no further action with a sick child. Only to the situation escalating and me begging the Gp to refer me to in Wexham. I was referred, "reluctantly" as Gp said. Then within hours my child was hospitalised with bronchiolitis and tested positive for Rsv and was tubed up. To me that Gp in the surgery should pay greater attention to babies and children and stop palming us off with "viral, nothing can be done", "they need to get stronger", or "take them out of nursery if you don't like them being sick"... this is both patronising, misogynistic and unhelpful and as proven by me, dangerous to the health and wellbeing of a baby or a child. This one Gp is tarnishing the reputation of the surgery in my opinion and is apparently "known" for this approach. Perhaps Gp Surgery should have Gps trained on paediatrics and listening to chests better. My son was diagnosed within 2 minutes by paediatrician in Wexham who told me that if Gp didn't hear the wheeze and crackle, then he must have been not listening! This isn't first time this happened to us; our first born has been treated just the same way and ended up in Wexham several times because Gp didn't act or misdiagnosed the issue. I would love to say you should stay in this surgery, but that one Gp and experience with him has put me, my family and other local parents off.
