    I received a text from this surgery asking me to make an appointment to discuss my recent blood test so I phoned and was refused an appointment by their receptionist even though they contacted me! She sounded like she was poking fun out of me over the phone, it was the weirdest conversation I've ever had but it was clearly evident that she was absolutely not going to help. So I asked for the test to be emailed to me and with the help of the internet I deciphered my own results. Turns out I need a doctors appointment urgently but this woman is blocking patients from getting medical care.

    My daughter, 18 months old, has a bad virus and I had to go through 111 to get a call from the GP. She checked up on us and was supposed to call again to check if she got worse but of course we never got the call. My daughter did get worse by next day, contracted an eye infection as well. No pharmacy agreed to give me treatment without a doctor seeing her first, which is impossible at Ifield Medical Practice so I instead walked in hoping that someone will see my daughter's eyes and hopefully give her treatment. It would've taken a doctor probably 5 minutes to do that, but I was being told there's no one who can look at her and to call the next day. I called the next morning and they booked a phone app for me for the morning. That phone call never came in the morning and they closed the practice from 12:30. I did get a call after 12:30 and I missed it but I returned the call within 3 minutes and the answering machine said the practice is closed. I now have a baby with an eye infection and no treatment. This practice has always disappointed, I have never been able to say "yes, I am happy with how I've been treated today". I thought maybe they would make more of an effort when it comes to young babies.

    Despite saying they are taking on new patients, they currently are not. They also informed me they will not accept the GMs1 form which the Nhs and Government website state will be accepted by GPs and which is provided by the government website.

Our website states that we are not taking on new patients and who to contact, to find a practice which would be happy to register you.     We as a family have been patients since 1972. Staff, doctors,nurses and receptionists over the years have been very good. Phoning is a bit of problem, but when you get through the staff are helpful.

    Before Covid I would have highly recommended this practice. The doctors are still very professional when you can ever get an appointment, and I have to visit the nurses very regularly who are also lovely but phoning for appointments is abysmal. I was number 22 in the queue only one minute after 8.30 last time and hung on for another 35 minutes, so hard trying to do it whilst at work. It just was never like that two years ago also then to be told no appointments face to face or on the phone left then what on earth can you do. That’s why people end up visiting A & E for things that a GP could of easily sorted out.

We have been experiencing some phone issues, but we have a new telephone system installed, which will give us the ability to know how many patients are waiting in the queue on the phone, so we can manage the demand during the day.
