I called today to get my partner an appointment as he had surgery from cancer 2 years ago and where he had the surgery has been getting infected alot and swollen,he is waiting to get surgery on it again as the area has died round it, but untill then hes in alot of pain. I explained this to her and her reply was well what do you expect the doctor to do about it in a cocky attitude, im absolutely fuming and i wish i could talk directly to my doctor instead of someone with a cocky attitude that think they know it all.

  2. Review titled Great Practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Excellent practice. All of the staff are extremely helpful, from the reception staff to the clinical staff. The Advanced Nurse Practitioner has been so supportive and did everything in her power to help me. The reception staff are always friendly and helpful too.

  3. Review titled Can't get an appointment

by Seeking Appointment - Posted on 12 December 2022

Rang to make an appointment to see someone on Wednesday, and then again on Thursday, and then again on Friday. Firstly, it was extremely difficult to get through, and on all occasions I was told no appointments are available. I asked if there are any appointments in the evenings or weekends (extended access service), and on all occasions I was told no appointments are available in the evening or weekends. So frustrating. So do I go to A&E?

Dear Patient I am sorry that you had difficulty booking an appointment recently. Pre-bookable appointments (for follow up or an ongoing problem) are routinely available 3-7 days in advance although an appointment with a specific doctor can be up to 14 days in advance due to annual leave and the fact that our doctors all work part-time. We offer on-the-day appointments every weekday for acute problems and our eConsultation online requests are acknowledged and triaged within 24-48 hours. We also - as you mention - are usually able to offer Extended Access appointments. Unfortunately for the past two weeks, and currently, Practices (including extended access and NHS 111 services) across the UK are under serious pressure due to the high demand following recent fatal Strep A cases affecting children. I can only apologise again, that you were unable to get an appointment this week. I obviously don't know the nature or seriousness of your health problem but would request that you contact us again rather than attend A&E. Kind regards - F Reid (Patient Services Manager - Horton Park Medical Practice)
