  1. Review titled Flu Vaccine Nightmare

Rated 1 star out of 5

Not sure if this is the same across all GP surgeries as my only previous experience was pre-pandemic and entirely stress free. They hold clinics across two sites and to make things extra difficult, they only offer children’s clinics on weekdays whereas adults can have weekend appointments as well. You cant have both a child and an adult appointment at the same clinic. I was offered an appointment 8 weeks away!! The staff was unaware if pharmacies offer NHS vaccines. Which given it’s the industry they work in, I would expect them to have some knowledge so they can signpost patients. Thankfully, I was able to google it after my waste of time call and booked a pharmacy appointment in 4 weeks. My child will just have to risk it but hopefully I will be well enough to look after them. Seems like whoever designed this process did not consider the needs of the patient at all. It should be easy to access services and certainly not a stressful experience. This just seems like a ludicrous, ill-conceived process and so complex the staff member was in a flap trying to communicate it. Why not just hold flu clinics on X number of days at whichever site and make X number of appointments available. Why add extra layers of complexity for the sake of it and arbitrary barriers like children having to attend a different clinic. You do realise an adult will need to accompany them?

  2. Review titled Terrible practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

My elderly housebound relative has been well and truly let down by this practice on numerous occasions. We are his only living relatives and live over 20 miles away but we have to come to pick up prescriptions to take them to the pharmacy next door to the practice! The pharmacy (not affiliated with the practice) doesn’t have a delivery service so we have to also collect them. The latest problem is that he was told he needed urgent B12 injections to be administered by a nurse over a month ago, so we traipsed over there to pick them up and to date no one has been to give him his injections, despite nurses attending on two occasions to take blood from him, both of whom told him they don’t give injections! This is just one example of the bad service he has received. We cannot get through to the practice to speak to anyone so this is my only option - a rant on here that probably no-one will see.
