  1. Review titled Great practice amazing staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I visited howthorn medical surgery on 24th July when i found out my son hurt his hand and got a big cut with some signs of pus in it. I was really worried that wound may have become infected. It was nearly 6pm,the lady at the reception was very helpful and checked with available nurse if she cuould see him. She was very kind to see him after her two pre booked appointments and gave him antibiotics to use over the course of 7 days. All the stuff at howthorn are very friendly and understanding.Higly recommended.

  2. Review titled Reduced standards

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Individually, staff & GPs work extremely hard. However, as a whole the standards at this practice fall well short of what we, the patients, should expect. Recently, following a hospital diagnosis & despite being in constant pain for days I still can't get an appointment. Additionally, my online medication request for pain relief has just been ignored. This is just an example of the kind of experience you can expect at the surgery which is compounded by the fact that you are very unlikely to see the same GP twice so there is no continuity of care. The website states online users can book appointments. However, this is simply not true as the booking system is rarely updated/used by anyone. Totally, disempowered at this surgery, it is with regret, I feel I have no choice but to leave & register elsewhere. Thank you.
