    Used to be a great service, Rang today to be told I had to either go online at 3.30pm or ring on Monday to make an appointment, Explained that as a full time carer I could not guarantee being able to do either and just needed to book appointment, Was told to either ring 111 or go to the walk in, Yeah take a vulnerable adult who has complex needs and sit in the walk in for hours, Asked to speak with practice manager was told no , Asked if she could email Practice Manager was told no , The person I spoke to had no understanding of being a carer at all, I will be looking for a new surgery for the family,

    Dear Harriet, I am sorry you feel you have not had the service we would expect from our Practice.     Applied for a sick note and received a call the following morning, very quick and simple with the doctor being very understanding.

    Sent an e.mail and the Doctor contacted me right away. Was very reassuring and gave me good advice. The Dr rang me back when I missed the first call.

    My husband has just come out of hospital after having an emergency operation. Today l got a message from the Doctor asking how he is. After me replying she messaged me back with good advice about what to do to help him get better. Knowing that l can speak to her with ease is so helpful .

    Very rarely ask for consultations, so thought I would probably have a lengthy wait Triaged by GP at 10-45 and asked to come for examination at 12-30 Thought I would have lengthy wait in surgery but was called in just before 12-20. Examined. Explanation given and script sent to pharmacy of choice When you feel so unwell, the last thing you need is to be sitting around waiting Today’s experience was NHS at its best. Many thanks

    Your Review: Yet again I call and the receptionist is very helpful. I have been advised by the chemist to contact my doctors if I start to come out with bruises. They said the blood thinking tablets dosage needs to be changed as my blood may be to thin now. The receptionist has message the doctor for either some advice or to call me. This is extremely unusual as months ago you would be told they are all booked up call again at 8 in the morning. We need more receptionist like the Lady who took my call. Thank you so much you are a credit to the surgery.

    I have been a patient at Haughton Thornley since 2005. I have had many consultations over the years with both GPs and nurses and I have found everyone to be very kind and caring. I also appreciate the fact that if a GP sends me a text message there is the opportunity to respond. This happened at the end of last week when I was discharged from hospital following a minor heart procedure. I received a text from one of the GPs saying that it was fantastic news about the results of the procedure. As there was a link at the end of the text I could actually respond to the GP instead of having to request a telephone consultation as I have a few concerns about the next steps relating to my heart condition. I was really touched that the GP actually took the time to text me as I know how busy GPs are. I am also very impressed with the fact that on a couple of occasions in the past, blood tests have come back highlighting problems that needed to be addressed (i.e. an over-active thyroid in 2009 and pre-diabetes in 2022). On both occasions I was contacted by the practice asking me to make appointments in order to discuss what needed to be done. I know that I am in extremely good hands and I am so grateful that I have access to such kind and caring doctors and nurses. The GPs at this practice certainly, in my opinion, go the extra mile when it comes to caring about their patients. The receptionists at Haughton Thornley are also extremely professional and helpful and will do their utmost to accommodate when it comes to appointments. In my experience, Haughton Thornley is the best GP practice in Tameside and I have a lot to be thankful for.

    Arrived for an MSK appointment today only to be told when I arrived that it had been cancelled. I didn't receive any communication that this had been cancelled prior to arriving. Very annoyed as I missed an important meeting at work to attend this appointment. Member of staff on the reception wasn't very apologetic and dismissed me very quickly without any information to rebook.

    Dear Patient, Firstly my apologies for the late response as I am new to the Practice. MSK is not part of Thornley House but a base for them to use, all GP Practices refer their patients online. If a clinician cancels their appointments we only get informed on the day and let other practices aware. My apologies if you were not contacted by your Practice, unfortunately we would not hold your details in our system.     I received an appointment for the same day re symptoms I informed the care provider of. Treatment was given. Contacted surgery 7 days later by the new electronic system and was given telephone consultation with gp within 24 hours treatment given and a follow up txt after 3 days to check if the treatment was effective. Replied back requesting a further appointment with gp and this was arraigned for later the same day. I couldn’t have asked for better treatment well impressed.
