  1. Review titled Watch out

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Raakhee Thompson - Posted on 10 April 2024

I have called this surgery twice on behalf of my uncle in the last week. He is approaching end of life. He can no longer walk, is not eating, there is blood in his catheter and he sleeps all the time. He has heart failure as well as other serious issues. Twice I have asked for a doctor to go and visit him at home to make an assessment and organise palliative care. The reception staff seem kind enough and today I was assured a doctor would go and visit. No visits. Just phone calls to my aunt to either prescribe pointless shakes and complete inaction. Why on earth no home visit??! Why would you not make an effort to assess and put in place care for a dying person?? I’m in utter disbelief.

  2. Review titled Bad so very bad

Been trying for a year to get appointment, And every day I've tried (on days off from work) never get below 15 in queue and then told no appointments and no way of booking ahead only way to ring at 8pm, online services do not work. adverts say if nothing feels right contact g.p with this practice can not do that have to wait till need 999 for treatment. any one looking for a doctor "Do Not Use These", if you actually want a proper doctor go some where else. terrible service.

  3. Review titled Fantastic Friendly Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Bernice Thomas - Posted on 08 August 2023

I have recently joined this practice and they are the most friendliest GP surgery I have had the pleasure in interacting with. The reception staff work very hard and proficiently and follow up every single inquiry. They will be moving to a new building soon which is well deserved. GP's are also very nice. I highly recommend this great practice.

  4. Review titled Outraged

Rated 1 star out of 5

Trying to call for my test results after a nervous few days waiting only to have the phone picked up and then clearly put straight back down every single time while the receptionists can be heard laughing and joking I'm the brief seconds the phone is connected. Absolutely disgusting behaviour when you're dealing with a public that don't want to need to contact you but obviously have a need to. Never experienced anything like it in my life, should be ashamed.

  5. Review titled Bricks come before patients

Rated 1 star out of 5

Have been registered and loved this practice for many many years which used to had caring doctors, nurses, managers and reception staff who used to listen but it now seems that moving into a new glitzy all singing dancing promise of everything for the future it is going backwards. Was told yesterday that they are no longer offering blood tests and having already been embarrassed having recommended this surgery to family members who have moved into the area was informed they were told by a very rude receptionist that they no longer are taking new patients and the list is closed. Enjoy your new shiny new expensive building; my family and I will be moving to the smaller family focused local surgery which has managed to expand whilst keeping the focus on patient care. As a family we have always been happy at Chancery Lane but given the service we have received over the last two or three years we will not be moving to the new Hartshill building but will register with the lovely friendly smaller practice who seem to understand what is important to patients like blood tests, so much for bringing care closer to home - Chancery Lane look back and reflect, you are not representing, and have not for the last few years what the NHS was set up for.

Dear Patient We are so very sorry to read this review and your recent experience but sincerely appreciate you taking the time to provide feedback. We also would like to thank you for highlighting that our patient list is currently suspended. This is due to maximum patient list capacity and current location capacity, hence moving into a purpose built building. Hartshill Health Centre will serve the local community, being able to deliver more NHS services out of 1 location and strive towards delivering excellent patient care and better health outcomes for the growing patient population. We are sorry that you feel you need to leave the Surgery and wish you all the best for the future. Kind Regards Chancery Lane Surgery

  6. Review titled Not recommendable

Rated 1 star out of 5

While the staff are kind and do their best to facilitate life to patients, I cannot say the same of the doctor. Let me expand: - The staff would send forms via email so that patients won’t need to waste time to physically go to the surgery. But the doctor will tell you to move your butt and go because they don’t have time to send stuff via email (hello 2023). -unless you keep a diary of your tests, calls and symptoms, and you do your own chasing to ensure your referrals are made in a timely manner and your consultations, your conditions will remain undiagnosed or untreated. I took a test for ADHD 5 or 6 months ago, and only because I asked about it, I was advised to write how I feel so that the doctor can present my referral (basically I took the test for nothing because the doctor did nothing for months, until I asked 2 days ago). - the same happened with my ultrasound. The doctor forgot to request my ultrasound and finally did it at my 3rd complaint when after months of having the same conversation about abdominal pain, I still hadn’t received the appointment letter. My husband is supposed to have blood tests every 3 months, but we have to go and ask. Unless you’re up for chasing the doctor, double checking that your referrals are done and you enjoy wasting time in commute just to get a form you could easily get via email, do not register with them. My recommendation to the doctor: if you feel you have too many patients to give them the service they deserve, either you take on more doctors or cut down your patients.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

highly recommend this lovely practice, very friendly and extremely helpful reception staff, if ever the appointments are fully booked i am always offered a future appointment or very good advise. The GP's always seem to go the extra mile and always follow up if needed. I am really looking forward too the future of the new building.

  9. Review titled No problems

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Lorna Tindall - Posted on 18 June 2023

The date above is random. My comments relate to the whole time I've been a patient at this surgery. I joined Chancery Lane Practice about 2 yrs ago. So far, I can say I have received great assistance when I've asked for it. The receptionists are always polite and friendly when I telephone or visit the clinic, as have the other staff when I've seen them or spoken to then on the telephone, eventhough they were very busy. Thankfully, I haven't needed to see a GP yet, but hopefully when I do need to, that will also be a good experience. Thank you.

  10. Review titled Friendly practice. With a forward looking approach.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 30 June 2023

Friendly practice with staff that will go out of the way to help. Gp's are helpful, and try to sort your issues, with Physio, Mental Health, Blood Scientist, Paramedics, Care Coordinator and Clinical Pharmacist at there disposal. With new building in the process, patients will have a better opportunity to get the help we deserve, all under one roof.
