  1. Review titled Prescription pick up and ordering

Rated 1 star out of 5

This practice is still making us queue outside in all weathers to hand in or pick up prescriptions! This is not acceptable. Can not recommend this practice.

    Review titled Harptree Surgery

    Replied on 22 December 2022

Dear patient, Thank you for contacting us. With limited space at the Practice we have made changes this year in order to provide more services and increase capacity for our patients. The new arrangement at Harptree allows the dispensary and reception queues to be kept separate and therefore staff are able to deal with patient queries more efficiently and patients receive their prescriptions faster. Prior to making the changes patients raised concerns about having to queue in the same line for both reception and dispensary, with increased waiting times for both, and this situation has now been ameliorated. We have listened to patient feedback and have provided a protected external area and are continuing to implement further improvements. We hope this explains why we have made the changes that we have as we strive to provide an efficient local service for our patients. Harptree & Cameley Surgeries

  2. Review titled Inappropriate access system and appointment rationing

Rated 1 star out of 5

I phoned the surgery to access medical help for my 13 year old who has an acute ear infection and needs some antibiotics at 11:45 today. Receptionist informed me that antibiotics would not be prescribed without a consultation, that all of the morning consultations had been taken/passed, and that the afternoon appointments were not released yet. Advised to call back 'a few minutes before midday'. Phoned back 11:57 - a different deeply apologetic and embarrassed receptionist informed me that the afternoon appointments were not released yet and to call back at 12:00. I phoned back at 12:00 - presumably with all of the other patients who had been advised to phone the surgery at that minute of the day - spent 12 minutes on hold, and when I got through was informed that all of the afternoon appointments had been taken. I have had this experience myself previously when suffering with tonsillitis. I find this perverse and inefficient system of rationing access to medical assessments and appointments pointless, frustrating and inappropriate. There are far better ways to manage access, demand and capacity, but the surgery does not appear to be aware of these or interested in making the effort to implement them.

  3. Review titled Easy access to help whenever I've needed it despite COVID

Rated 4 stars out of 5

IAttended for a review of an acute illness & had a thorough examination within a couple of hours of phoning. The prescription service & pharmacists are faultless. I appreciate all efforts to keep the service running so efficiently.

  4. Review titled Prescription service

Rated 1 star out of 5

The way that Prescriptions can be picked up has altered without thought or care for patients. You now have to stand outside, in all weathers and speak through an intercom, not easy for older people or those with poor hearing. Once you have managed with great difficulty to make yourself understood the prescriptions are then dispensed through a metal drawer without any human interaction or contact at all. It seems this practice does not with to have actual contact with its patients at all. Last time I requested an appointment to see a doctor I was told there was a three week wait for a telephone consultation. Can not recommend this practice.
