I telephoned the surgery concerning my grandson .( who is under 2 years old) I was told to ring 111 after 6.30pm due to them not having any appointments it was 4 pm ?. After voicing my opinion & being kept on hold I was than told if I ring 111 they will be able to refer me back to the surgery with an appointment. I called 111 and after filling out the assessment. I was told to call back the surgery and they will request a referral. I telephoned the surgery to be told my grandson cannot be seen and to call back to 111. So in other words I would have to wait to be seen out of hours by another doctor or go to A&E . I spent over 2 hours being given wrong information by this surgery and they even blamed the 111 service due to the fact they could not be bothered to see a baby in stress which would have taken 2 minutes of the doctors time. My partner practices has a vet and if he treated a clients animal in this manner he would be stricken off . What is going on !!!

Dear patient I am sorry to hear of your problem accessing care at our Grange Park Surgery. Our policy is to see all children under 12 on the same day if the parent / carer requests urgent care. We would not usually direct anyone to 111 during our opening hours. I would be grateful if you would contact me with further details to enable me to investigate what went wrong in this case and provide training to our team required.
