  1. Review titled Absolutely useless

Rated 1 star out of 5

by James Greenwood - Posted on 03 April 2024

Absolutely useless, can't get an appointment even when been calling for over a week at 8am, staff don't follow things up and don't do what they say they will do. Would give 0 stars but cant. Even opted for a callback on the 28th March did not receive that day and as of 3rd April still not received callback from service, staff say I must not have opted for callback, so basically called me a liar.

  2. Review titled Used to be great

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 19 February 2024

I've been at this practice for two years now, and I've never had major problems, however in the last few months, I'm talking since about September 2023, they have disappointed me over and over. From messing up my repeat prescription (something that happens every month) to the attitudes of some of the staff. My most recent hiccup with them was at both my well-baby appointment and a Gp appointment requested. I complained at both appointments from breast pain (2 weeks apart), on both occasions a male Gp saw me (did not examine me) and dismissed my symptoms saying nothing was showing signs of an infection (never mind my excruciating pain). I had to beg them to get them to send a minor illness referral to my pharmacy to get treatment for nipple thrush given, and 4 days after my booked appointment where i got told i had nothing and to go home with paracetamol, i ended up at hospital with an acute case of mastitis, 39.9 fever and had to get IV fluids and antibiotics. I told them I had an infection and nobody could care less, the Gps did not even examine me properly, or take samples to rule out an underlying infection- all the while I'm breastfeeding with toe-curling pain, to which the suggestion was "just take a break and give formula for a week"... which, without getting into the formula versus breastmilk debate, is the reason one gets mastitis in the first place!! There is a serious lack of women's health knowledge at this practice, and I'm not too keen on how the nurse that gave my babby his vaccinations treated us either-first time mum and this nurse didn't even have 5 minutes to explain the follow-up to the injections. Systemic improvements are needed to take better care of mothers and their kids in my opinion, and the reception staff could wear a smile.

  3. Review titled Really poor practice management

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 24 January 2024

Booked in for a podiatrist at 8.50am arrived at 8.40am and checked in - screen advised all on time. Sat for 15 minutes before I asked the receptionist what was happening to be told that they don't even know if the podiatrist is on site . They spoke with someone presumably a manager who didn't seem to care. I then waited a further 10 minutes before being told it would probably be best to make a fresh appointment. What totally isn't acceptable in these times is that they think its ok to make people travel back and forth , losing time in work and having to re-arrange things. Just because they don't have a system to ensure staff are on site when they are supposed to be. Also I don't care if they are PCN staff or whatever ....Its the practice as the service provider to ensure the staff are in place.

  4. Review titled Absolutely shocking

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by KIRSTY - Posted on 19 June 2023

I recently requested a repeat prescription for hayfever medication which got rejected! I have suffered severe hayfever for around 20 years and in the past 4 years this has also affected my breathing requiring me to use an inhaler. I have spent almost 4 hours trying to contact the surgery to see where my prescription is up to only to be told it has been rejected as it can be bought otc. I asked for an appt with a doctor (the girl on the phone had a serious attitude and could probably do with learning some customer care skills) but there were no bookable appointments available. Anyway, after a couple of phone calls to different chemists, it was confirmed that you cannot buy my usual hayfever medication or blue inhalers otc as they can only be prescribed by a medical professional. I called the surgery back (which took another hour to get through), the girl was very helpful and somehow managed to find an appt for me 2 days later. I understand there are procedures etc to follow but I have an ongoing allergy which I have been prescribed medication for most of my life and I shouldn't be having so much trouble with this. Absolutely shocking service!

  5. Review titled Use another GP

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 04 June 2023

I understand how GPs are under stress and there arnt enough of them. However why when you do get an appointment (finally after many many days trying as no routine ever avaliable) do the doctors seem uncaring, dismissive and unwilling to make a referral for anything. Your not taken seriously. Find another GP you can't get much worse than this place. Anyway after long conversations I was referred and did have a problem that needed treatment by a specialist.

  6. Review titled On hold for 78 minutes

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Nicola - Posted on 31 March 2023

I rang the surgery at exactly 08:00 this morning to receive an engaged tone. I repeated this a further 29 times and finally got connected at 08:05. I proceeded to be on hold for 1 hour 10 minutes listening to the standard music (no idea where I was at in the queue) before getting through to the receptionist. I was then told that all the appointments for the day had been allocated and there was no availability and to ring back at 8am on Monday. After explaining the situation the lady kindly managed to get me an appointment for the 14th April. This is a long way off and given I desperately need to see a doctor I am going to have to go through the process again on Monday.

  7. Review titled Worst practice I've ever been with

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 04 January 2023

It's Bank Holiday Monday after New year . 3 of us are ill . 2 kids and myself. We ended up at urgent care . My boys both have tonsillitis and I have a water infection with possibility of kidney stone and/ or shingles. We all had very high temperatures. We didn't notice that the hospital doctor had prescribed my boys amoxicillin tablets.. went to our doctors to see if they could change the script to medicine as neither can swallow. Now on Wednesday and I have to call meds management team who aren't in till 3pm . That's after the snotty receptionist having a snipe about us not noticing the scripts said tablets. So my boys have to suffer in pain for however long it takes until we have their scripts sorted. Absolutely disgusting. No doubt the onus will be put on us for not checking the scripts even tho all 3 of us are really ill . Hospital doctor also wants me to have a scan on kidneys but my own doctors will look at me like I'm lying as has happened in the past. If it wasn't for the fact that I'm awaiting biopsies being done I would have changed doctors ages ago !!!

  8. Review titled No bookable routine appointments

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 20 January 2023

There is no service to book appointments other than emergency (on the day) appointments. My need is not an emergency and I do not want to lie and take an emergency appointment that others may need. I have to phone on the day the next time I can attend. Very frustrating for working people who will need to give advanced notice to employers and cannot therefore make appointments in advance for when I have leave. I also work in the NHS. This will mean I will have to take unnecessary time off work at my employers expense (the tax payers money) when a bookable appointment would have prevented this. This more than likely means I will not book an appointment for many weeks, until I next have leave. I have a lump, hopefully this will not be anything time dependent.
