  1. Review titled Helpful Service

Rated 4 stars out of 5

On Tuesday 16/5/2023 I contacted the surgery to book a doctors appointment. The receptionist (male) advised there was no appointments left for the day, he asked me a few questions regarding my issues and really did help me, by finding me an appointment with an out of house practice. The practice then advised I should have an X-ray to help diagnose the issues I was experiencing. The practice contacted my surgery who promptly arranged an X-ray for me. Thank you to the male receptionist (apologies I can’t recall his name) who I’m grateful to for arranging my appointment. A really great service Kind regards

Review: The Care Quality Commission says this General Practitioners Surgery has improved. I'd like to know where. Previous doctors/owners would be devastated to see what their gem of a practice has become since one GP retired a few years back. It's become a regular occurrence for there to be no doctors appointments available for days - sometimes for an entire week! Ludicrous! I saw (two) doctors walking around the practice last week and when I asked about seeing one was told they were "not taking any sessions today"? What does that even mean? Advanced Nurse Practitioners are a regular there now, filling in for doctors, which for the most part is grand - until you see the one who promises everything but does nothing. Query their non-actions and nobody else in the practice will deal with you. Nobody. You're told you must see the same (incompetent) person again. And if that person is off for a week, or only works specific days of the week - hard luck. You must wait (up to a week in my case and then try) to get an appointment with them when they're next in attendance. Appointments. Where to start. As stated earlier, there's rarely any doctors appointments available, and appointments with Advanced Nurse Practitioners are quite limited too. People queue outside from 7.30am (doors open 8am) in all weathers to try for an appointment. I was third in one such queue yet was told there were no doctors appointments left and could only be offered an appointment with an Advanced Nurse Practitioner - which I took. Another option is to ring the practice at 8am, but be prepared to be on the phone for a long time, constantly pressing the redial button. It's normal to ring 50+ times before getting through. (My record is 332, 1hr 15mins last week. Yes, I have photo evidence.) If you're very lucky, you may get a 'telephone appointment' with a doctor, but no approximate time is given, so your entire day revolves around waiting for that call. You can't take/receive other calls in case you miss the doctor calling. You must ensure you're in a strong signal spot at all times. You dare not fall asleep or put your phone down in case you don't reach it in time before they ring off. You even take it to the loo with you! So stressful! (From one such appointment, rather than see them in person, the doctor asked a friend of mine to send a photo of their problem. Why are the doctors so against seeing patients face to face?) The office/reception staff are to be commended for their loyalty and commitment to the doctors and their jobs. They must have such a hard time having to enforce the rules/'working' practice/decisions made by the doctor(s in charge), whilst for the most part, remaining calm, polite and respectful. Dealing with disgruntled, unhappy, upset, sometimes desperate patients every day is no easy task by any means. There was a time I'd have highly recommended this practice, but not now. (I myself am in the process of changing doctors.)

  4. Review titled Shocking treatment

Rated 1 star out of 5

Absolutely shocking practice. Can't get an after work appointment as the GPS don't work after 5.30pm despite being open til 6.30pm. Told to take a day off work instead. These don't care remotely about their patients. You want to know what they think of the people they serve, go speak to their patients, sadly my experience is the norm. This used to be a fantastic surgery.

I called the practice at 8:40, the receptionist was friendly and offered me an appointment at 10:30. I saw the nurse practitioner who listened to me and assessed me and prescribed antibiotics which I collected straight away. This is excellent service

My partner went to get an appointment to see his Dr after coming out of hospital after a heart attack, to which he was told he couldn't see 1 or even get a phone call of a Dr unless he comes back at 8 am in the the morning & stands in que, & maybe still can be able to get an appointment, the staff are so rode to everyone, the only way you'd get an appointment in this place is if your dead.
