  1. Review titled Excellent Weekend Cover

Rated 5 stars out of 5

On a Saturday I had a sudden pain in my right ear, which made me feel off balance and ill. I was too late to telephone for a Saturday appointment, but was able to obtain one the next morning, Sunday. I was given advice and support and my concerns were addressed. Not everyone falls ill during GP practice opening times - so long may this sensible weekend GP availability continue.

  2. Review titled Great doctors. But getting to see one is hard work.

Whenever I have seen a GP they have always been marvellous. However, as with many NHS services getting to access a GP can be a minefield. The incredibly rude receptionist will direct you to the online system, that is usually closed by 8.10 on a morning for having already filled its quota of appointments. When you point this out to her you're made to feel guilty for ringing in at 09.30 even though you're working yourself and this is the first opportunity. I didn't (and still don't) need an on the day appointment for my problem, but its still urgent. However, as I haven't still managed to speak to a medical professional about my current issue it will probably get to a situation that is considerably more urgent than it is currently. Frankly, appalling service from the reception and admin staff at this surgery. It's no wonder that people end up piling into A&E for what start off as easily fixable primary care problems.
