  1. Review titled Terrible Service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 09 April 2024

My husband had symptoms of a water infection he did a water sample thinking they could test it as 2 minute procedure but was told we don't have the capacity to deal with that. Ended up at Pontefract then Wakefield out of hours! All they needed to do was put the testing stick in the sample and issue antibiotics. You can't see a doctor at the surgery anymore so it isn't fit for purpose. My 11 year old keeps getting tonsillitis so we have been told to book a routine appointment, but hardly any available and ones they have are in Castleford and other locations, we are registered at Ferrybridge so expect to be able to see a doctor at Ferrybridge or whats the point! Either they don't actually have any doctors working here or something is seriously wrong with the appointment system.waste of time telling people to make an appointment then you can't get one. Everyone seems to end up at the out of hours department's at local hospitals where there are massive queues. Surely local doctors should be seeing patients with water infections, eye infections etc not just telling them to go to hospitals it really is terrible.

  2. Review titled Abysmal GP Practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Unhappy Chappy - Posted on 12 March 2024

Following contact with this practice, it is apparent that this experiment in the provision of care has failed. The surgeries are spread between Byram, Ferrybridge, Castleford, Methley and Normanton. This is no good for anyone reliant on public transport. There is a 9.5 mile radius minimum, between the practices branches and the chances of any one them communicating with each other is virtually nil. Trying to get an appointment is also virtually impossible, and if you do get one it will be in an adjacent town, as the local surgery will be shut. There is no wonder the accident and emergency services are over flowing, as primary care is neither patient centered nor fit for purpose. Our 92 year old, terminally ill mother was made to visit the surgery, whereupon she was admitted to hospital 2 days later with pneumonia, despite being on the gold team palliative care team and should have had a home visit. In summary the practice appears to be only of use to people who are fit and well and for the convenience of the doctors and staff, who seem to make it as difficult as they can for those most in need of their care.

Having asked for an appt for my poorly 7 year old grandson to be seen with a high temperature and terrible cough was told to go to urgent treatment centre … which is usually full with long waiting times … it just isn’t good enough ,

  4. Review titled Hopeless

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Margaret Fiddes - Posted on 12 October 2023

You'll notice that Ferrybridge medical Centre hasn't responded to any of the reviews. Probably because they're all completely accurate. Every time you ring you've to wait for ever. This time I got through only to be told to ring back at 8am why can't they run a proper appointment system like any other professional organisation. I shall struggle on until either get better or go straight to the hospital. I have even considered a private GP for efficiency's sake but why should I?

  6. Review titled Total waste of time

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 26 May 2023

I have phoned numerous times to be fobbed off constantly. When i phoned to book a smear test was asked who told me to do this. Shocking !. Just before Christmas I had strep throat my husband ended up examining my throat to try to explain to the nurse. He had no idea but hey ho. Today I phoned yet again to be fobbed off . What is going on with this practice I've not seen a doctor for over 3 years. Evan a simple request is too much so your not talking over someone who needs the appointment more in person. This needs sorting. It's a serious issue. I've no words on how bad they are as a medical practitioners. First do no harm god knows how other people are going through.

  8. Review titled Poor Service no duty of care!

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Jacqueline Jones - Posted on 25 April 2023

To get an appointment here is a joke, not from just today but previous experiences. Rang today to be told to ring in the morning at 8am. Explained I worked permanent nights which would mean going to bed to get up from bed to ring to be sat in a queue to then hopefully get an appointment at a time that suits?? To then have to try and go back to sleep for my night shift… when asked if they could help with this the receptionist went to ask and was told to tell me ‘it’s up to me’ thanks for your duty of care! let’s hope I don’t have an accident going or coming home from work with my lack of and broken sleep! Poor service that you can not book in advance!

  10. Review titled Worst doctors in the world

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 16 November 2022

This doctor's is the worst expecially the pharmacy team every month I have to ring up because they have got my medication wrong even tho its on repeat they also get my husbands wrong even tho i send emails explaining my issue. They really need closing down because they are a risk to people's lifes and trying to get your medication early because you are going on holiday is a nightmare they don't understand what your trying to say and they assume you always want your medication early. They are very snotty and at every txt message saying this medication won't be issued early even tho I didn't ask for them early . Something needs to be done with this surgery because they are a danger to peoples health. Once I come off my holidays in 2 weeks I will be changing doctor's and I suggest people avoid this surgery like the plage.
